Saw Mr Kennedy himself today. The ball they say is his court.

We rented through Kennedy’s. They were so unhelpful. The house was filthy upon arrival and they refused to have it cleaned. I mean dirty. Cobwebs all over the windows, dirty bathrooms, kitchen cupboards covered in Grime, filthy carpets, scuffed walls. We left it immaculate and they tried to not give our deposit back as there was a hand print on the back door. We had so many problems with the house including a blocked toilet which still wasn’t fixed when we left. The landlord didn’t like that we wouldn’t live with that and asked us to leave after 6months or she’d up the rent when we needed it for a year. And Kennedy’s did nothing to help. Their downfall was that they didn’t even find us anywhere else to rent. When they knew we’d be looking. I’d refuse to buy a house through them even if it was my dream house. Very painful experience.

The distillation of all the negative views of estate agents, even if the only way to save my life was to sell my house, I wouldn’t use Kennedy’s if they were the only estate agent on earth. From a buying point of view, we gave them our budget and they proceeded to send us details of property a good 20−30k over our budget. If they told us, ‘Sorry, we don’t have houses in your price range,’ we’d have been fine with that but they just decided to spam us with unsuitable property instead. From a selling point of view, they needed two reminders to come round to value our house, and the person sent round do the valuation spent more time looking at my wife’s cleavage than assessing the house.
