Rating des Ortes: 2 Norton Fitzwarren, United Kingdom
I wouldn’t bother going here if I were you. At least not on a Sunday anyway. I booked a table last minute for 12pm, and they managed to get us in. A very warm and friendly welcome, the staff were great. There was little choice on the menu so we both went with the roast beef. As a chef myself, I was gutted with the quality of the food. The portions were so stingy it was unreal. It was like wartime rations or something. If you like a decent portion, you don’t wanna eat here. The roast potatoes were rock hard, soft on the outside and like a brick in the middle. The Yorkshire puds, on the menu as ‘Eddies infamous Yorkshire pudding’ were awful. After eating them I assumed that Eddie had no sense of taste or smell and was probably semi blind as well. They looked as bad as they tasted. We did get the chance to meet Eddie himself as a chef came out of the kitchen. I said ‘alright?’ and he replied — I will be when I finish here at half three. He clearly loves his job, and that really came through in the food. I will never go back. 3/10, and those three points are for the great FOH staff and that they had Doom Bar on tap.
