I’ve been eating here for over 25 years — before it was the Nirala in fact. They have had the same chef for 22 years. The food is consistently good, and is the best Indian in the area. Service is good and friendly, we have been coming so long its like being part of the family.

I have only ever had good curries from Nirala. It looks quiet and unassuming from the outside, and inside the Tudor beams add an interesting element to the Indian décor. The food itself is very good — their chicken tikka masala is delicious — as are the onion bhajees. The staff are very friendly and get on first-name terms with you. Highly recommended.

My parents warned me not to order a takeaway from here and I wish I had listened. When our food arrived it was stone cold. There were about three chips in a bag, the poppadoms were stale, the samosas were chewy and the bhajees inedible. The curry itself had two pieces of chicken in it and the tub was only half full of sauce. A huge difference in portion size, quality and price to our wonderful Indian takeaways here in Wales.

ABsloutely brilliant indian reataurant. It may not look likew much from the outside or have the fancies décor inside but the food MORE than makes up for this. WIthout doubt the best Indian in Tewkesbury. THe food is very reasonably priced and always pleases. My friends brother was there with us once and he mentioned he was a chef — he was invited to come in and see the kitchens and came back with a glowing report — spotless and everything meticulously prepared. THey also do take aways and will deliver for free to the local area. HIghly recommended.
