The needles is a nice place with awrsome views. Chairlift still.good. only suggestion is in the pantry café. When your toilets are out of order, it is a bit off putting when the sign says, out of order due to sewage spill. Not good when next to food.

Best part about Needles Pleasure Park is the chair lift that takes you down to the Alum Bay Beach! The view is absolutely spectacular, from top to bottom of the cliff! The chairlift is a MUST when visiting Needles!

Lovely to see the needles but that’s it! Once you have seen it there is not a great deal else to do. Luckily it was a beautiful day on our vist and we were able to walk out the cliff. The great attractions which are advertised are all a bit tacky! The different coloured sands were cool but shapes to be filled with coloured sands were really tacky. I was overall disappointed.

The needles is a great place to go with the family. There’s lots to do there’s the fayre which is on year round and during the summer on Thursday nights they have an amazing huge fireworks display which is awesome. It’s cheap to park and fully disabled friendly. There’s some great places to eat. You will enjoy visiting isle of wight glass where you can watch glass being made and can purchase lots of glass items. There’s also a sweet factory where you can watch wonderful sweets being made and sample some. There’s the cliff chair ski lift taking you down to the beach, too scary for me ha and there’s historical information for kids to learn about things that went on there during the war. There’s also lots of other stuff to do like making the famous coloured sands and loads more, you’ll have a great day.

Depends what you like really, this is a slightly dated collection of outdoor rides and amusements together with some gift shops and a run down café. The primary reason most people come is to look at the needles from the viewing platform, to have a look at the coloured sand and to fill little glass jars with coloured sand. This is the sort of place that is probably geared up much more to families with young children, my nephew loved the chairlift down to the sand. We took the cheap route and walked down there! The sand at the bottom was stunning the day we went and well worth a wander down there. The café was not brilliant — imagine dated motorway service café and you wouldn’t be far off. A real shame, because these days there’s no excuse for poor food and service. If you just want a plate of chips and sausage roll like us then it was fine, I wouldn’t recommend their jacket potatoes though. All in all, well worth a look if you’ve never been just for the geology and view.

The Needles is a brilliant place to sit and enjoy the view, across the sandy chalky cliffs, past the light house and out over the ocean into the distance. The pebble beach below the cliff is renowned for its dinosaur hunting qualities, as a rich source of fossils, plenty have been found here. The cliff is rather unstable though, and parts of it have been fenced off. The fun, if increasingly expensive part, of Alum Bay is filling little glass bottles up with staggered layers of variously coloured sands, colours from across the spectrum. I believe it used to be local sand that started the tradition, but they now import it due to the unstable cliffs. There’s a spectacular chair lift out across the ocean which is worth trying. Like a lot of things on the island though, the price is going up while the value for money is coming down, so get in there soon while it’s still there — the sights are free!

The Needles Park is the Isle of Wight’s premier visitor attraction and is situated at Alum Bay overlooking the Island’s most famous landmark, The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse. Every year, nearly half a million people visit to view these jagged chalk stacks and lighthouse, the unique multi coloured sand cliffs and enjoy the Park’s facilities, including the spectacular chairlift.(From Needles site.) The Needles is situated in the South west of the Isle of white if you ever go to Isle of white you must visit, There is no entrance fee but you pay for things as you use them and car park is £3 all day, There is the chairlift which for all you brave people out there can go down the multi coloured cliff, and there are 4 fair like stands(Shoot the string, shoot the sweets, knock the cans down and basketball) they are £2 each and when you move further on you can go in and phurchase a shaped bottle and go fill it will all different sands(That was cool) and they will seal it up for you. There is a big amusement arcade there lol suprise suprise and all manner or different little shops, confectinary and clothes and general bits and bobs adnd suoveneiers. There are also 3 mains mini attractions on site(Alum bay sand shop, alum bay glass and sweet manafacuary).Plus there are a few kids things like mini golf ect. Next to car park there is a national trust site with amazing views as you walk along the cliff. Overall v. good day out 9⁄10 You can get to needles by special bus’s that take you very cheaply(there big orange and purple ones), see local tourist info centers. Also overall the site is packed for things to do but is quite small when your walking round so dont rush take you time and do all thats there. Oh but please take plenty money with you, trust me.
