Excellent food, fantastic veggie options, and the prices are very good, however it does get quite busy, and you may have to wait a little bit for your food.

The epitome of Cornish Surf cool. Yes, it does what it says on the tin! Good food, good beer good views ‘n’ vibe. Bar staff are to type –young, fit and tanned but very friendly! Good comedy night, live bands and facilities. Family friendly and welcoming to all ages, Blue is perched right on the beach, with a car park within 50 feet but not intruding into blues vibe. Blue is a popular spot and as a result Blue can be maddening so get there in good time to have a good time. To find it. Drive to Porthtowan. Park in the municipal car park. Walk towards the sea blue is on the right, before the waves.

Called in here for a couple of drinks on our first visit to Porthtowan. Sat in the alcove seats as outside seats all taken on a gloriously sunny afternoon. This has a wonderful laid back feel to it and nice décor. Obviously a hit with the surfers too. The Guinness is very good, surpassed only by St Austell’s Tribute which was superb. The food looked and smelt delicious too. I could have stayed in here much longer and wished it was my local!

Great food, good prices, gobsmakingly fast service — wonderful views; could do with a slightly better selection of ale, but that’s the only criticism I have!

Fantastic location get there early if you want one of the window alcoves. A great place to sit after a surf or swim! and have a cold beer and watch a sunset. It’s almost as good on a really stormy day! The live nights get packed.

great place and even better when some live music is on, it’s located right on the beach at porthtowan and has a great ambiance. Not too big, not too small, the car park is close by, the boardroom restaurant next door is really rather nice as well. All worth the drive to get to for a visit.

See also under blue bar — same review The Blue Bar in Porthtowan is right on the beach and is one of those places where you think I wish I owned this place, it’s really caught all the trade in Porthtowan and rightly so, the staff are friendly, the views are great and its got a a quirky menu, stilton burgers with sweet potato wedges and chilli jam for example, all tastes really good. There are live bands at the weekends during the summer and it has that layed back surf feel to it. Unfortunately avoid like the plague in the middle of summer and during Bank holidays, you’ll be lucky to even get a parking space in Porthtowan let alone a place to sit and enjoy a drink or a meal as it literally gets set upon with hundreds of people having the same idea.
