Cosmo Oriental Restaurant

My granchildren love this restaurant, but it can be very hit and miss! The staff are welcoming and the food is good BUT it can be on the luke warm side if not cold at times! Getting there at opening time is the clue to getting a hot meal but they really do need to look at the temperature of their hotplates. There is a great variety of dishes and, of course, you can eat as much as you like. A great place to eat if you are in a hurry.

Surely the King of the I’ve-just-been-to-‘Spoons-drunk-eight-pints-and-now-need-to-eat-my-body-weight-in-fried-food type restaurants. This is my usual approach route to Cosmo but hey (!) it’s even very good sober. In fact, this is a very nice place and the quality of food is great given the prices these guys charge. It’s even not that salty. The buffet offers Chinese, Indian & Japanese food, exotic puddings and a frankly, worrying looking chocolate fountain. There’s something wrong about it, I just can’t put my finger on (in?) it.
Oh yes, and you can also eat as many crispy duck pancakes as you like. What’s not to like?
They have similar places in Eastbourne & Hastings I think. This is a great value restaurant.

We found the food a bit greasy on our visit but there was plenty of it and it was good for soaking some beer up.
The sushi was worryingly warm and the chocolate fountain looked a recipe for disaster.
The food was cheap but the beer and other drinks were very expensive.

This is a buffet and so cheap that it is almost embarrassing. We arrived at 2.30 and were pleasantly surprised that all of the starter dishes were well stocked. The main courses were disappointing as there were no fish dishes. We don’t eat meat and the only options were a couple of not very exciting looking vegetable dishes. We didn’t have pudding but there seemed to be plenty of choice. We did ask if they could prepare a fish dish for us, we were happy to pay extra but were told that we would have to phone up before hand and pre order. A shame as there were about 5 or 6 meat options and nothing for fish eaters. We would go again though as the food was very good.
