The Fairfax Gallery is a complete gem tucked away
on the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells. The work is interesting and varied, not too
much in the same vein and frequently added to. Includes
figurative sculpture, naïve style still life, abstraction, portraiture, prints,
city scenes and everything not so easily categorised in between. The
director is knowledgeable and helpful, understanding that a piece needs to work
in the space you have in mind. Though some artists are well established with
various accolades behind them, the gallery is also good at supporting emerging talent, Justin Weeks and Mary Jane Ansell being good examples of this.
The standard of this gallery is parallel to anywhere you’d find in London I
highly recommend it.
