I moved to T-Wells a couple of years ago and Sankeys has been my favourite bar. It has a good range of drinks and also has interesting memorabilia on the walls. However, I went last week and after waiting for half an hour at the bar for service(the bar staff had clearly not clocked who had been waiting in order), when I asked if I could be served(politely) I was told to be patient by the bar staff. A group of men then walked into the bar and were immediately served. I commented on this to my friend who said that they were in fact the ‘Sankeys’. This shows how much respect they have for their customers! I think they should have perhaps been more discreet about jumping the queue!

Best beer selection in town… unusual Continental stuff too.

Really nice place to eat, great seafood and good wine list. A bit pricey but then aren’t the best things in life? Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely pub in a good location. The wine list is great and there are a good selection of beers and ales. There is plenty of seats, lots of comfy ones and there are always a selection of papers. The atmosphere makes it very easy to sit for a long time! The food is nice and they specialise in seafood, the muscles are very enjoyable. During winter the real fire is on and it makes it so warm and cosy. The prices of drinks are average for a pub in Tunbridge Wells. There is not a car park and parking can be difficult in the area but it should be easy enough if you are happy to walk a little. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that the toilets are not always as clean and tidy as they could be. Overall, a lovely place for a drink.

A good place to grab a drink in Tunbridge Wells. The bar serves a good selection of beers and there’s a nice atmosphere inside. Occasionally a band(in the past usually a dire covers act, but I may’ve just chosen duff nights) will grace the front of the pub. There’s a fish restaurant downstairs, my only experience of which was the paella which was a little stingy on the fish portions compared to it’s continental cousins but a tasty effort nonetheless. There’s a nice rear patio in which to relax in the summer. Overall this is definitely one of the better places to grab a drink in Tunbridge Wells. A good effort in a place that often makes so little.

We came here by recommendation of several friends. I didn’t realise that the restaurant was downstairs so we went into the pub upstairs first. It was so run down and grotty looking that we almost ran out. This place is supposed to be one of the finest fish restaurants around so we decided to go ahead and order anyway. On going to the bar to order we were told that we could also use the restaurant downstairs. The restaurant is beautifully done up and oozes atmosphere. The fish soup was to die for and well worth trying. We can’t wait to go back and try some more delights. We had fantastic service, unobtrusive but attentive and very professional.
