Decent Indian curries and kebabs and ok on wine list. Nothing to rave about but above average food.

The other reviews of this appear to be for a different restaurant, perhaps the now-defunct ‘Blah, Blah, Blah’ further down Heath Road. At the time I’m writing this, the photo is also wrong, but regardless of all that… Two of us went to Atithi for the first time last night. The food was excellent. There is a good selection of both vegetarian and meat based dishes. Perhaps shorter than at some other Indians in the area, but it could easily be argued that allows them to concentrate on the quality of the food. We were served a small complimentary appetiser before our starters arrived. I’d gone for the crispy okra and my girlfriend the mini samosas. However, the starters did take a little while to turn up, and once they were eaten there was another bit of a wait before the main course. It was a Saturday evening, but the staff appeared to be a little overworked(one couple sat themselves, another took the more British approach of heading back to the door after they hadn’t been seated, at which point someone appeared to show them to a table — in fairness they had only waited for about 30 seconds). Otherwise the waiters were attentive and friendly, the food was good, and we will definitely be returning.

Fantastic vegetarian restaurant with wholesome food of a very good quality. Meat eaters might dislike this restaurant, because of the lack of animal ingredients, but the food is rather tasty and the selection is very unique. This is a very affordable option and they have a fantastic eat-in or take-away lunch option, that is extremely good quality for money. The only thing I dislike about this establishment is the décor and feel of the restaurant itself. It’s a little dingy and is rather cheap looking.

This is one of the small chain of vegetarian Indian restaurants in West London, with other branches in Hammersmith and Mayfair. The venue is clean but not fabulously interesting, being clad in varnished pine in almost every possible aspect(the same as the Hammersmith branch so perhaps the owners know a friendly carpenter!) — it actually feels like being in a log cabin! However, the food is absolutely sublime and always of exceptional quality and flavour. We are not vegetarians and were not expecting much when we first went for lunch, but although we live in Hanwell we often drive here for lunch or dinner. There are so many good starters it’s difficult to list them all(try the sev puri, samosas or rasa vada), and the main courses are amazingly tasty, with the stars being the dosas(flat pancakes of rice or lentil with savoury fillings). The traditional deserts are all wonderful — although you may not have room left. Well worth a visit to see how fantastic vegetarian food can be even for the unitiated!
