So we happened to be in an unfamiliar area shopping for boring housey stuff and fancied pizza… But… Could not find a pizza place and passed this Tapas place and thought let’s give it a try. I’m my generally not a huge fan of tapas in that I’m not sure you always get value for money with some of your dishes, but I was very pleasantly surprised by our visit to Tintos. The restaurant itself was nice, like stepping into a little traditional Spanish bar. The staff were friendly and at 3 tapas for a tenner(there was a deal on) it seemed like great value. Highlights out the six dishes we shared were the amazing and HUGE aubergine fritters with honey… The lovely cheese and potato«gratin» style dish, the tasty chicken croquettes and the fancy cheese on toast with manchego cheese and Serrano ham. The squid with mayo & the beef strips with pepper were fine, but nothing amazing. All in though that’s the way with tapas I think. You won’t love every dish, but if you come away loving a majority you will be happy. Nice restaurant well worthy of four stars.

I booked a table for six to celebrate our sons birthday last night. The place was really busy for a Thursday and we were directed to a table set for four. It was made up to six but space at the table was tight. We ordered drinks and had to wait 10 – 15 mins but after a quiet reminder that was sorted. To be fair the two girls attending were run off their feet. The food however was different class. There were 12 – 14 different dishes on the table and the quality was superb, desserts were of a similar standard. All in all not a cheap night; no change from £150 but definately an enjoyable one

I really enjoyed this Spanish Tapas restaurant! The restaurant is quite small but this makes it seem cosy rather than claustrophobic. The décor is beautiful with warm colours and a rustic array of decorations. We were seated at a table in between the bar and kitchen which I thought would be a bit annoying but it was actually fine! The sangria is delicious and at around £7 for a half litre jug, good value for money! We had a selection of dishes ranging from squid & mussels to patatas bravas and sausage stew– they were so delicious! I would recommend booking in advance as this is a popular place & fills up quickly!

I took the family out for breakfast here a few months ago, and it was really lovely! It was a Sunday morning so the place was totally empty apart from us to begin with, it was pretty serene to be honest! Now, before I get to the delicious food, I do have one problem — the staff took the rubbish out through the restaurant and it absolutely REEKED. They’ve got a back door, so I seriously don’t see how this was necessary!!! Luckily we hadn’t received our food yet, otherwise it definitely would’ve put me off. But anyway, the food really was very nice! I opted for the churros, which, at £3.50 for them plus a hot drink, was an absolute steal! They were so yummy and the chocolate dipping sauce was totally perfect with them! Being a bit of a gannet(especially for breakfast food) I helped my Mum eat her Tostada Pancetta which was like a Spanish Eggs Benedict, my favourite of all the breakfast foods.(Except my own pancakes because they’re basically perfect. Modest, I know!) This was really tasty, everything was cooked nicely and the flavours were great! My brother got a Croque Señor and, although he can sometimes have a bit of a Joey Tribbiani mentality towards food, it looked really good as well, he thoroughly enjoyed it! My parents have been for dinner there a couple of times and they really liked it, so I definitely think that’s something I need to try at some point! With 3 tapas dishes for £7.50 between 5−7pm, how could I not?

Having been a long standing fan of the Battlefield one I started going to Uddingston last December as well as still going to Battlefield. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal in either. The staff are always welcoming friendly and chatty. They genuinely want you to enjoy the experience. I recently risked taking my MD there. Why a risk I hear you ask well just so happens his missus is Spanish. This could have proved risky and a mistake. It was neither. The staff were their usual attentive selves and the dishes appeared very quickly. The MD was full of praise for every dish but 2 highlights for him were the calamari and the spanish omellete which he said were perfection and even better than his Spanish Mother-In Law made. All in all a great evening and the wine was praised for being top drawer too. Just relieved to know this place is every bit as good as I believed it to be. If an expert tells me it is then thats good enough for me. Try it for yourself.

Went here for my girlfriends birthday last night where we ordered three tapas dishes each. When the food first arrived it doesn’t look like much quantity wise, you get a small plate on your table with three small dishes served. I learned from some time I spent in Spain that serving food this way psychologically makes you feel full sooner than normal, which I was surprised to find it did. They have a decent range of tapas all reasonably priced, with the Spanish name for each and the English description, I ordered prawns in a chilli sauce, chicken with chorizo in a tomato sauce and ‘patatas bravas’ which is crispy potatoes in what’s like a spicy mayo type sauce, which I had frequently in Spain. The food overall was good, I just found even though everything was delicious and well made, it was still missing the authentic Spanish taste, which at this point I think is only possible to get in Spain itself. For dessert we got churros which is like a long donut with a sugar coating and a small glass of chocolate for dipping. This was my favourite part of the meal, for someone who isn’t a big fan of dessert it was delicious and not as heavy as you find in Spain. The staff were very polite and helpful with not too long a wait for the food and always were always around when you needed them. Overall, it was a good experience and would maybe go back again, this time having an idea what to expect.
