Elliot Hairdressing

Near the end of October I was quoted £24.00 for a wash and blow-dry here so I made an appointment for 2 days later. When my daughter took me there, the woman who did my hair suggested a 'light snip' however this proved very misleading during the appointment because as S snipped away, I became anxious which made me ask her how much it would cost me. S was very well aware by now that I was visiting from South Africa and clearly oblivious of the exchange rate that affects me. (£1.00 is worth R23.00) yet she charged me DOUBLE!! £48.00 later = R1 104.00!! making me feel even more vulnerable, disappointed, angry and sad. I felt I had been taken advantage of because I am a widowed pensioner aged 87 and a foreigner. I later suffered an anxiety attack when I told my daughter what S charged me. £48 is a crippling amount for me as I returned home with far less cash because a hairdresser took it for granted that she could charge that amount! My daughter felt so strongly about this and called and wrote them a letter requesting them to reimburse me the £24 that I was originally quoted when we booked it. - to no avail from Elliot's. It says a lot more about them, doesn't it?? Needless to say, my family and friends and I will never return to Elliot's in Hersham. Anyone intending to use them should be fore-warned.
