After Restaurant 22 closed this has been our Chinese of choice in Ware. Situated in one of Ware’s many old buildings, there is plenty of character here, albeit a little tired in places. The staff are always very friendly and efficient, and it’s usually especially quick to get a takeaway from, even when the restaurant is busy. The restaurant itself is large and split over two levels. The food is delicious, with a few menu items that you don’t normally expect. I can heartily recommend the sweet deep fried chicken to start, it’s got an almost BBQ taste. A wide selection is on offer too, with a good choice of wines and Tsing Tao beer! I’ve never been disappointed with a visit to China Red, and with reasonable prices I’ve been quite a few times! And they also have what is fast becoming the ubiquitous telephone contact details database so that when you phone they know who you are and were you live from your phone number so it speeds ordering up.
