Only tried this chippy on 2 occasions, 2 – 3 years apart. The first time was the same as the second, the fish batter was very thick, had become soft which indicated it had been standing some time before being served. It seemed the same as for the chips, rather overcooked & chewy, obviously been in the serving pan a while too! Hence, i will not be giving this chippy a 3rd go.

Had Fish and Chips and was very dis-satisfied, the cod was small meaning they can get 2 out of it, sliced in for the same price! It was over done, the batter was solid and had been there for quite some time. The chips were hard and completely tasteless when we took it out of the polystyrene tray there was a deep river of dark unclean oil that had not been changed for some time. All in all the worst experience of an English chippy poorly imitated!!!

A very ordinary fish and chip shop — who also do some burgers kebabs and pizzas. All the usual pies, sausages, peas etc. that you would expect in an english chippy, all reasonably well cooked and prepared in hygienic surroundings. All served by competent and, usually, friendly staff. But nothing really stands out as being anything but ordinary. At one time, this was packed to the seams at teatime(around 17:30 for southerners!) every Friday — mostly due to the large Irish presence in Warrington and the consequently high number of roman catholics. Now does good business at this time every night and gets particularly busy after the pubs start to chuck out. We sometimes treat ourselves to a massive cholesterol fix from here, but visits are increasingly rare.
