Went to Ego at the weekend. This time it gets upgraded from a 2⁄5 to a 3⁄5. If I am honest, the food is just«decent» — a solid 3⁄5. But unlike last time, we didn’t have to wait ages for the food. We went at lunch time and it was a bit quiet so may explain why. For starter I went for pâté which came with some bread — I always like pâté wherever I have eaten it and its never been bad. Its nothing spectacular but tasted good. For main, I went for the cod loin. Decided against going for something I would normally get like a steak and went for something healthier — although the pancetta the cod loin was wrapped in was probably not that healthy! It came with seasoned veg — potatoes, mini carrots and mangetout. Potatoes were quite nice but unfortunately not the carrots or mangetout — tasted like maybe been boiled too long. But overall it was all pretty nice and good service.

This place is always so packed so I advise that you book. After a couple attempts getting a table we finally got one so my expectations were running high. We sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. The waittresses were very accomidating when prompted, they brought the specials board and offered us drinks… the drink menu was plentiful, I decided a wine for mains and some Efes. The menu includes a nice Mediterranean selection of fish, meats and vegetarian optons. For starters I chose a curried pea soup and my colleague a chorizo and halloumi cheese skewer. When my £6 soup arrived I was disappointed, it was served in a very shallow dish with shop bought part baked rolls. the flavours were very confusing and besmirched. My colleagues was far more plentiful in both colour and portions. These taken away I was served a fresh crab risotto, and my colleague the duck. Presention again was bland and mine lacked seasoning and zest. again my colleagues looked much better than mine. The coffee liqueur was good to finish, but I had to chase for the bill several times. Overall I found this place overrated, and very hit and miss. I was not impressed with my meal, especially the price. My colleagues was a lot better but it shouldn’t be so inconsistent. Try this place by all means. just choose wisely.

The atmosphere is romantic, but the waitress is really aloof during her service! After paying the money, I asked whether could give me a bag she didn’t want to so answered no! I was not happy with this waitress but satisfied with the waiter! Improve ur service, this waitress, it was the only point disappointed me.

Eaten here lots of times, the food is good. When they have offers on the value for money is great, even without offers its still reasonably priced. Service is always good, friendly staff and its a nice place for families too. The only thing that slightly lets it down is the ambience, it can get noisy when busy and when quiet it seems too big. However right now with Bistrot Pierre it is in the top two restaraunt a in Stockton Heath.

Ego is a very good Mediterranean restaurant in the centre of Stockton Heath village. We went there for Sunday lunch and took advantage of their prix five offer(2 courses cost £12.95). The restaurant has recently been refurnished and it looks very light and stylish. The service was friendly and efficient. I had the calamari for starter which was lovely and fresh and crispy. My friends goats cheese looked delicious and was a very generous portion. For main I had the salmon fishcakes, these were very good with the correct balance of potato to fish. I also liked the lemon mayonnaise that accompanied it. Ego is a great choice if you are ever in the area.

One of the best Mediterranian restaurants in the region! There are lots of big Egos in the Northwest I tell thee! I am a big fan of Ego, I always have been and always will be, because terrania is my adopted home almost, I love it! Just like the Malmaisons in the U of K my mission is to grace all 10 of these Egos with my presence at some stage. Stockton Heath stop did not disappoint. If you lo to the ve Mediterranean food and you have been to the Manchester and Liverpool offerings then this is a place you will love! Only have a few to tick off now me, Lichfield and Kenilworth you’re up next where ever you are!

Fantastic mediterranean food, especially the specials board which always seems to use in season fresh ingredients. I recommend the soup for a starter, always very tasty. The atmosphere in this place is bustly aswell which I like in a restaurant. If you want to go at a weekend make sure you book well in advance though, i’ve tried ringing on a Fri for a table on Sat for a few times and never managed to reserve one for a decent time!
