Donwell Chippy

This is the best Chippy around here, it does Amazing Chips, Ridiculous prices & closing times tho. The Fish & chips combo is to die for. GOOD times

Four stars for the sheer size of the fish and chis portions! easily enough for 2 people to share, possibly 3 or even 4 if appetite is small. Not only quantity, but quality is very good too. I’ve been using this regularly for years as it is my closest proper chippy (i.e. don’t throw frozen chips into a pan!). This chippy is second only to the excellent Redz in terms of quality, but nobody matches them for quantity!

we went here last night .food was really hot too much chips batter was bubbly just the way i like it .only thing that put me off was a lass walked in of the streets looking like she been working at the beauty salon and started serving without washing her hands and no hairnet on other people had theres on .also caked in makeup not in the catering place … but i will go there again for our fish and chips boyfriends very particular in his choice of chips and takeaway food… keep up the good service in hot food and you wont go wrong

This in my opinion is the best chip shop in washington.
I used to think Washington Village chippy but they got new owners so I tried Donwell as the Village Chippy went downhill.
I am not a frequent chip eater but now if I ever do fancy something I will always go here.
The cod and chips i a reaosnable price at around £5 and the cod is always white and juicy and the queues at the door at opening times tell you all you need to know.
They have good deals and the staff are friendly.
