We’ve just moved into Washington and in my opinion, the In-Shops are one of the most interesting parts of The Galleries(which is in every other respect just a big shopping mall). The In-shops area is like an indoor market with dozens of quirky little shops selling all sorts of different things. There’s a great fruit and veg market which sells in-season fruit very cheaply, a bookshop that also sells and exchanges second-hand books, a pet shop(which the kids love to stop and look into), haberdashers, butchers, hairdressers, and lots of other useful little places that wouldn’t otherwise get a look-in in a regular shopping centre. My only gripe is that there isn’t a map or list of the different shops at the entrance(s) and it’s taken me a while to discover what’s on offer, plus I also tend to get a bit disoriented wandering around the many different paths that go through it. I haven’t noticed the smells that the previous reviewers noted so obviously they’ve cleaned up their act a lot.

I kind of agree with the other reviews but there is one exception! There is a deli where you can buy savaloy dips and hot beef dips and it is LUSH! The best place to buy cooked meats etc and they are sooo cheap! Fresh ready made baps and pease pudding etc. Brilliant! They also do the nicest roast potatoes. Give it a try and I can assure you that you will go back xx

Dear Lordwhat can I say about this place? For starters it abolutely stinks! Walking around you get the worst smells, from fish, butchers and random other smells that are all mingled in under this one roof! To b fair there is a shop called quickstitch that i like to use now and again as the quality of stitching taking up jeans and shirts etc is great for the price but apart from that i can find no other reason to go into the inshops! Be warned, wear a peg over your nose before you venture in and be prepared for an overload of cheap tat on offer.
