Walkabout Inn/Jongleurs

This bar some how seems to be trendy. The boys love the sport TV’s, the girls must enjoy the music, dance floor & the fact it is usually quite busy.
Quite a big place. Furniture is Ikea squares but solid. A dance floor appears late.
The Boomerang card helps keep cost down. The Aussie factor is gimmicky as ever, but the place has a good vibe.

I have been to this place a few times and I rather like it; I know that I shouldn’t but I do.
The drinks are pretty cheap and if you get yourself and ‘boomerang card’ you can get another 25% off food and drink (which is a good offer as getting a few drinks and some food will pay for the card instantly).
Although not the place for you if you fancy some Real Ale, the lager and general drink selection is fine and it’s ideal for the sporting event of the moment. They can show 3 different feeds at the same time, so you are covered if there more than one thing to view together.
Generally a fun and youthful atmosphere in the place, with people either starting the evening off here on route to a club or evening bar, or getting ready for the Comedy upstairs at Jongleurs. For a sporty bar you would expect it to be quite a boys pub, but they seem to attract a good mix of both genders.
In the evening the area near the back turns into a kind of dance floor with a DJ, however I can’t imagine this is the selling point of the place; more something that simply happens at night.
I think it’s the best Walkabout I have been too; probably since it’s the least Walkabout-​y :-)

This has to be the worst Walkabout ever, the staff are rude and unfriendly. Dnt even get me started on the bouncers. Went in for 1 drink and got thrown out for no good reason. If you are out in watford would rather waste my money in a place with better customer service

Ok, how typical of me! I’m an Australian and I’ve been to the Walkabout in Watford. At least my first Walkabout experience wasn’t in Shephard’s bush, or on Shaftesbury lane! (I’ve only been to one other and I’m not telling!)
It’s your typical Auzzie ‘style’ pub. Despite popular belief, they are not all like this in Oz, and it feels a little cheesy in it’s effort to be so «Austray-​yan». That and the fact that they play without fail the song «I come from a land down under» (probably in the rule books for the night). That said, it’s big, it’s a pub and it has cheap drinks! That’s good enough for most of us on a night out with a big bunch of mates. Plenty of room for ‘bogan’ dancing and a bar as long as the pub, so even if you’re in a que of 10, you’re up the front and possibly next.
By no means a classy joint, but a perfect place for a night out on the lash for more than just us Auzzies who are a little home sick!
