Traditional English pub. Not a lot of indoor seating, but lots of outdoor seating. Food is good. Large portions. Guaranteed to get full. I had the Steak and Ale Pie… Loaded full of meat, served with choice of various potatoes, salad, and steamed veggies.(When in the UK, I always ask for peas with gravy)

Lucky us! A very nice local told us about this quaint pub in the middlesex of London(suburb) of Heathrow. We had the traditional«Sunday Roast» which you could choose beef, lamb or a combo. There were three of us, each ordered one and my selection was Steak & Ale Pie. The atmosphere, food and service were to rival any award winning restaurant. My two companions could not stop eating. Just gushing about how much they were enjoying the quality and taste of the food. Fresh. Authentic. Yes awesome, however, here are some tips. Geez. I think the owners think the patrons are still building roads in the 1900’s as the portions are GINORMOUS even by Texas standards. Plates are the size of «estate“car tires & filled to the brim. The three of us could of easily split one of the entrees. We discussed doing a «take-a-way» but would not work in hotel situation. It was so good, we actually debated it. Put it on your trip. Worth it. Did I mention the great service? Lovely!

Little spot near the airport that’s good for a few bites and a pint. Cod and chips is my goto — served crispy and beer batter hot with no shortage of chips and mushy peas. The service maybe alittle slow but well worth the wait with a pint or two waiting in hand. Food was fresh and cooked just right when served. There’s a 5 to 6 beer selection on tap so choose wisely. Names are familiar but the John Smiths is a great try. A creamy cask ale type with light carbonation and balanced flavors. I hear the Boar Burger is so-so, so you might want to work around this one. Overall, a good rest and relax pub for those looking to escape a crowd. Not sure about the service hours but I got in before 6pm. Other reviews say different but I’m pretty sure their serving food.

It’s a 4 start because it’s in west drayton. The food was good but slightly on the slow side! I got the pork steak and really enjoyed it for under £8 !! It was like being in America ! I had to walk home to help digest it all :) I was surprised at how cheap(er) the drinks were compared to most pubs I go to. I don’t fancy the idea of waiting in line though to order-I think for a great setting and reasonably good food, service should be much quicker and better, but hey-it’s a pub not Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen! I would go again, that’s the important bit

Made a visit on the strength of the reviews here, particularly the review that said get there before 6. So I got there at 4:30pm on a Saturday, place looked a bit dated both inside and out, but armed with my Unilocal knowledge was confident of a good feed. However they don’t serve food until 6pm. Not a drinkers pub because of its location which makes you wonder that if your not serving food why are you open.

Good food, but don’t order anything that looks or sounds like a «pie.» It’s a goulash with a pastry top and isn’t satisfying. It’s a good cheap meal and the Indian food is spot on and won’t make you run to the toilet for a change. Very friendly service. Try anything but the pies and you will be satisfied.

We’ve been coming here for about 6 years now the night before our flight. The good is fantastic. Excellent quality, huge portions and good service. Make sure you book in advance as it gets quite busy. But as I say lovely food and nice beer.

Perfect location for a last pub, great local flavor! The Plough lived up to its other great reviews by serving excellent ale and tasty fish and chips in a wonderful local atmosphere. Fortunately for guests of the Holiday Inn M4J4, The Plough is located just out the left of the hotel’s main gate, not more than a 3-minute walk from the hotel entrance. We walked over on our last night in England on a Sunday at about 6:00PM. We must have timed it just right, because both inside and outside tables were available. By the time we left an hour or so later, people were queued at the bar and waiting for tables. We sat inside and I checked the bar for tastes of the ales. The Plough is a Fuller’s pub, so the fresh London Pride was the best choice available. The menu was pretty typical pub; steaks, pies, and fish and chips. We ordered the fish and chips with a shared sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The fish and chips were the best we enjoyed in England and they were accompanied with mushy peas and, surprise, a salad! The cod came as three meaty pieces nicely cooked through with a very decent batter. The chips had an excellent flavor. Please note that while we had two orders, a single order of fish and chips here could easily feed two — they serve huge portions! The sticky toffee pudding, with ice cream, was also enough for two, at least that’s what my wife said. I loved the sweet stickiness! I enjoyed a draft Strongbow cider with the dessert. The Plough features table service, but they did get overwhelmed toward the end of the meal, so we had to ask for our check and a third half-pint was not going to be possible. Based on the real ale, food quality, value for the price, and friendly locals and staff, 5 stars!

The beautiful London weather caused me to miss a connection back to the US. Imagine that! After spending five hours in the refugee camp known as the ticket line at British Airways, I was put up for what was left of the evening at the Holiday Inn down the street from here. My friend and I were given vouchers for the restaurant at the hotel, but I wasn’t going to spend my only night in the UK at a Holiday Inn greasy spoon. I asked the very cute concierge if there was a pub nearby and she suggested The Plough. It was everything I had hoped for. An old building, low ceiling, good lager, and decent pub food. I was somewhat disappointed to see a lot of people drinking Fosters and Becks, but The Plough wasn’t the only place I observed this happening so I will give it a pass. The kitchen was about to close but they accommodated us anyway. I had the chicken pie. My friend had the vegetable curry. Both were very good. We washed them down with some London Pride(eh…) and then some local lager that I can’t remember the name but was far better than anything else. After dinner we chatted with some old British men that come there every night to get away from their wives and drink some Fosters. One of them remembered the London bombings of WWII, which was pretty amazing. It was a lovely evening and made the hell British Airways put me through totally worth it. I was there maybe two hours, and I’ll probably never make it back there again, but I will always remember my night at The Plough!

The whole week was surprisingly warm in the London Area with nothing but sunshine. If not for the splendid weather I would have not enjoyed this establishment to the fullest as it’s meant to be an outdoor pub vibe with a lot of outdoor seating in the patio area. It’s located very close to the Holiday Inn off Sipson road so naturally most of their customers are passing through, but in my case I’m on a dedicated quest to find the best Fish N’ Chips through the UK. There Fish N’ Chips were highly recommended and it didn’t disappoint but it didn’t blow away my taste buds either. It was one of the biggest if not the biggest Fish N’ Chip dishes I’ve ever seen and at 9 Pounds it was certainly a bargain. It was so massive it led to me running a few miles immediately upon finishing the meal(took about 30 plus minutes to finish, but maybe it was the Strong Bow Cider). Overall it provides a nice vibe and cool spot to meet some interesting characters from all over the world. The menu also offers some Indian Cuisine but a man on a mission never strays.

On the road from West Drayton, the Plough public house is the first building in the village itself. This is a modest mid-19th Century inn that is now completely overshadowed by the grotesque bulk of what is now the Holiday Inn. Food here is amazing, beer is excellent. ehough parking place. only concern is the service. there are little slow in serving and taking your orders.
