Let me just say, the food was outstanding. my wife had the vegetable chow mien and I had the Combination Red Curry. The service was good and have to agree with the previous review The Prawn Crackers are awesome. A must place to seat if you like Asian cuisine…

Clydebank may be short of a lot of things, but good Chinese restaurants is, thankfully, not one of them. Indeed, with an extensive range of Chinese and Malaysian dishes, Peking Cottage is a reasonably priced, authentic restaurant which can undoubtedly lay claim to being the pick of the bunch. The name may conjure up images of a quaint, peaceful set-up, but in actual fact it is situated just along from the Hardgate roundabout, making it awkward to reach for non-locals without a car. Nevertheless, this is definitely better than your average takeaway so a jaunt in a taxi is highly recommended.

Peking Cottage is better than your average Chinese takeaway because it also serves Malaysian food. It has become my first choice when I get that prawn cracker craving. Vegetable chow mein is my Chinese go-to dish as I’m a noodle rather than a rice girl. However, Peking includes Singapore noodles in its extensive takeaway menu, much to my delight, so I have ordered that the last few times. My boyfriend orders the beef chow mein and my brother and his wife generally go for the chicken sambal. All pronounce them delicious. I have not eaten in Peking’s restaurant so I cannot comment on that. However, I would give the takeway two enthusiastic thumbs up.
