«You have never heard of the half –priced Indian?!» So cried my friend to me one Friday when I was debating which Indian to have my dinner at. My criteria that night was simple. It wasn’t pay day yet and I was digging out pennies from the bottom of my bag in the hope that I could treat myself to a meal. So the premise is simple at the Viceroy. Every dish is half price. It’s like the food is on sale! The menu basically reads like this; the dishes are listed at their original price, and each price has a red line drawn through it and then the half price written next to it. Its an ingenious idea– I doubt the food was ever actually at the full price, but it makes gullible people(like myself), think that they are cleverly saving themselves a small fortune. The meal that I had was great. I am not going to tell you that it was the best Indian that I have ever eaten, but it certainly was the cheapest. I had about 3 dishes, and that came to £10.00. I am on a mission to find a meal and a drink for a tenner in London, and this has edged me slightly closer to my goal. The restaurant was also very full, so clearly I was the only person in Molesey who hadn’t got the memo about the Viceroy.
