Clive Godwin Weymouth 26 Oct 2016 We employed Elite Property Maintenance to refit our bathroom, plaster skim and redecorate our hall, stairs and landing. We had several issues with the work but were ultimately not happy with some areas of the gloss paint finish which started lifting after a few weeks.
Two emails asking for some assistance were sent and the only response was to the second, which just stated - all the paintwork had an undercoat!- I used Dulux undercoat and gloss ! There may have been gloss on gloss under the new paint.
A reply was sent stating that had never happened, so was not the cause.
Again there was no response, so the following email was sent:
It seems that your continued reluctance to respond to my emails stating our dissatisfaction following you redecorating our hall stair and landing, indicates that now, having been paid upfront, in full and in cash, you have no interest in making any efforts to examine or resolve this issue. That being the case, I feel it is necessary to record the details of our disappointment with some of the work you carried out in our house. It is apparent that online you have, without consulting us or with our permission, placed photographs of our bathroom before and after it was refitted. What you did not record, although I did, was the before and after state of our kitchen that was damaged by the water that came through the ceiling below the bathroom, from the leak that you did not tell us about. No apology was made, nor did you rectify the damage You placed a large bag for waste adjacent to our front door, which was duly filled and stayed there for 6 weeks, with no apology, because you failed to have it picked up by not complying with the collection conditions. The gloss finish to the woodwork appeared to be water based, lifted in several areas and did not harden as it should. There was no sign of an undercoat and repair work is difficult as the gloss coat does not rub down, but just peels off, despite your statement, again with no apology, that - 'all the woodwork had an undercoat!'. You have made no effort to come and examine the defective paintwork when it was reported, or since, so having paid you a lot of money, when we get a problem, customer service is now non existent. We think that is unacceptable. If you wish to discuss any of the above statements I look forward to a response. If not, I will assume you have no problem with me repeating my observations online, should I choose to post a review of Elite Property Maintenance.
The following email was then very quickly received in response:
Sorry you have not been getting my emails in response of your issues. My email account has been hacked and I had to close it for some time! I am very sorry for the problems you have regarding the work and upset this has caused! I have been in the trade for over 32 years and not had this problem before, so this is a upset to me as well ! I am more than happy to rectify all the problems for you I will remove the photos from the Unilocal site as soon as I can. Once again I am so sorry.
That was nearly a tear ago and the only thing done to date is the removal of the online photos. Despite the above assurances, he was not upset enough to make any further contact or come and view the problems, so customer service does completely disappear once payment is made.
