Willett Arms

Just browsing at past reviews and this must show the brewery how times have changed. We loved this pub and now they have taken the little friendly warm atmospheric treat out of the community. Shameful!

We visisted the Willet arms for my mothers birthday, and could not have had a better time. the beer was excellent, there was a hudge range of fantastic sounding food (i had the Lamb — genrous portions and coocked wonderfully) the atmposhpere was buzzing without it being to crowded or loud. It has recently been refurbished and has a very pleasent feel to it.

What sells a pub to you? For me it’s the family atmosphere. We stumbled across this pub one summers evening and really thought we had found a gem in the beer garden. It is split into two sections with the nearest part to the pub being a play are for children, and hidden behind a bush and a gap to walk through is a large grassed area with benches to enjoy a lovely summer’s drink.
Inside the pub it’s clean and tidy. We eat here fairly often when we’re passing as the prices of the food are good, and you tend to get value for money from the meals bought here.
I like the ordering system with the food, and we rarely have to wait more than fifteen minutes. If there is a wait we are always told quickly to give us the chance of whether we want to stay or not.

This is a great pub, in my book, an old faithful, trustworthy and reliable.
They have a really good large beer garden, which at various times of the year looks very picturesque. It has some climbing equipment for children.
Indoors is also large and well laid out. No one crowds anyone.
There is also a room for children.
I had my daughter’s birthday party here for about four years — to save on stress, work, and anxiety! The staff are great about lighting the candles in the kitchen etc and cutting the cake etc. In those few years we just had one nosebleed!
It’s become a Brewers Fayre, so the food is fairly predictable. It’s just that they do it really nicely.
Because it’s an old faithful. I haven’t been for a while — I want to really enjoy coming back here when I do.
