I like this place. With a great location right on the high street now, I can simply pop in and grab a hot mocca on a winters’ day, or chill out with an iced smoothie. Their overall act and quality has improved since the change, although I think this has more to do with the new location falling under the limelight more than a new year’s resolution. Overall, I say sure. It’s good for hot drinks, and if the queue is too long, just cross the street to starbucks. How handy.

Costa Coffee is a one minute walk from the town centre, and if you’re in dire need of a good coffee, its one of the better coffees available in Winchester. Staff are warm and welcoming, and the food selection consists of delicious cakes and sweets, along with more healthier options also. If coffee’s not for you, then get a fresh fruit smoothie. However everything is fairly pricey, and although not far, it takes a committed walk to reach costa instead of just going to a shop on the high street.

I can’t fault Costa’s coffee, it’s OK but not great, but this particular café is in a terrible location in the basement of the Brooks Centre; without natural light, however the walls are windows and so you are on display as you have your coffee(if you get a seat). There is outside seating but who wants to sit in the draft — as the Brooks Centre is not exactly indoors — in the middle of a shopping centre?
