The Long Walk is the part of Windsor Great Park that stretches from the castle to The Copper Horse, under 3 miles away. The drive across it when you drive to Windsor from Old Windsor and get an impressive view of the castle. I grew up very near this park and love it for the lovely green space that it provides. It’s a nice place to sit and read, walk down to the statue, The Copper Horse, and I have sat and eaten a picnic here before now as well. Great for walking dogs along. I have also been forced to run up an ddown the blessed thing when I was at school, so it is a place fit for humiliation. During Ascot week, this place becomes the place where you can stand and wave to the royal party as they drive down it, through the park to the racecourse. And I’ve stood in uniform in primary and secondary school and waved to them with all my friends. Funny now I think of it now.
