The service that we recived was not good shall we say the food was awful and the general cleanliness was despicable. I would not go back there and certainly would not recomend.

The Harvest Mouse is an old windmill converted into a pub, it’s based on the corner of Pensby Road, just as you enter Heswall village. They are brewery owned and have a good menu that serves a wide range of Gastro pub favourites and occasionally specials. They have a friendly team and the pub itself has a great family atmosphere so would be ideal to take the kids on a weekend or after school. They have a full bar of spirits and also have house wines and draught beers as well as a wide selection of bottled beers. They have plenty of seats and I can imagine you could quite easily have a large party at this venue upon request.

Part of a familiar chain, so at least you get consistency, the main attractions of the Harvest Mouse are its special two for one meal deals(definitely a plus in these cash-straitened times) and overall family-friendly appeal; so you can have a drink with the kids along, without feeling like a social pariah(there are baby-changing facilities too). The food is plentiful, wide-ranging and, of course, cheap so it’s somewhere you might want to go to on a semi-regular basis, without feeling a bank overdraft breathing down your neck. Beers include: Carling, Fosters, Stella, Theakstons Mild, John Smiths Smooth, Guinness, Guinness Extra Cold, and Strongbow Cider. There’s also a regular quiz night on Tuesdays. The car parking space is enormous it needs to be, the place is hugely popular and a beer garden and patio area is provided. Don’t be fooled by the 18th century windmill at the entrance: it’s fake.

This pub is a converted windmill. There is a downstairs dining area and an upstairs which isonly open when they are really busy and have enough staff in. This is a 2for1 restaurant so 2 meals for around £8 which is good for a cheap meal out. Its nothing fancy but certainly a nice place to eat at a reasonable price. Service is quick and friendly, drinks are an average price, children are welcome and there is a kids menu. I would say this is less of a drinking pub and more of a restaurant and tends to be quite quiet after 9pm.

Delivers great pub grub in an unusual setting of a converted windmeill. The food is very reasonably priced, the atmosphere warm and cosy. Ideal for a cheap and cheerful tea for the family of an early evening, or lovely sunday roast!
