I worked in Woking for some years and Archee’s became our local. Any excuse for a post-work celebration(or commiseration) and we would stroll down to Archee’s for a pint or three. It is definitely more of a bar than a restaurant(few people seem to eat there, though it does have a small menu), and is decorated in a fairly modern style, with a range of different furniture, ranging from high bar stools to a comfy sofa. There is usually music playing, and there are a couple of the usual big screens to watch the footy, and a huge tropical fish tank. In the summer months, you can also sit on benches at tables outside — big brollies give some shade — and watch the traffic. The bar owner Dennis and his regular barman both have great memories for faces. Having left the company I worked for more than six months ago, I dropped in again recently, and both guys remembered my preferred brand of lager even before I’d opened my mouth.
