Good sized City Centre based Wetherspoons.
If you know what Wetherspoons is all about, then you’ll enjoy this pub. Wetherspoons means a great selection of alcohol at a good price, and decent food, served quickly and at low cost.
The staff are friendly and attentive, even at busy times and with a lot of punters. We enjoyed a nice late lunch on a Friday afternoon and a full breakfast on a Saturday morning — both arrived within 5 – 10 mins of ordering.
Quiet, a good atmosphere, good staff and cheap food and beer. What more could you want?

It’s a high street, city centre Wetherspoons. In your mind, think of what that sentence means to you. It’s a fair bet it’s exactly like this pub was. It was cheap, busy, and bland. You get what you pay for, I guess. It’s not somewhere I would make a beeline for or avoid like the plague — but it’s fine. It’s just… there.
That’s about all you can say really.

Pub was packed, with smokers blocking the entrance. And Grandma. what an ugly
street you have!

Now THIS is what you call ‘cheap drinks’. The drinks are seriously cheap, and that’s not a bad thing. Always good to start off a night, although as a 26-​year-​old lass you do have to keep your wits about you as swarms of old men will prowl about you. Once you’ve had enough to ignore them, you will have a really good time here. Oh, and what I REALLY like about the Moon Under Water is that the music level is kept to a low level, so you can always have a dignified conversation with your mates without having to scream ‘HELLO!’ just because the pub decided to turn the music up. The food is surprisingly good too, and I was totally sober when I tried it!

Your usual Wetherspoons with cheap beer and anonymous if competent bar service. Ok for sinking a few pints prior to attending a gig at the Wulfrun or Civic Hall but I wouldn’t spend a night out in there.

this pub used to be very good for food and atmosphere but has definitely dwindled down in the past few years.
The locale is not very pleasant and perhaps attracts the wrong kind of people because of the low price of food and drink.

This pub use to be OK a few years ago, although the food was neither here nor there, one week it would be nice another total rubbish. Since the smoking ban it still feels the same I think people sneak a cigarette in the toilets or something and it travels up those long stairs! It’s mainly used before and after matches, and by people on nighttime who plan to do a pub-​crawl and want to fill up on cheap beer beforehand. There is not really a lot you can say about this pub, tables are usually wet with alcohol spills and not really the sort of place you want to stay in for very long. The bar staff are friendly enough, and if you are lucky enough to get in one of the alcoves I suggest staying there for the duration of your visit, at least you can pretend to be else ware.

Cheap food, cheap beer — same with all weatherspoons. Mainly full of the older generations of Wolverhampton or the riff raffs, on match days its full of wolves fans. Not a fan of this venue, even after the smoking ban it still smells of stale smoke.

It’s a city centre Wetherspoon’s. Cheap beer means it’s always busy. Food is good value. We use this bar on matchdays when it’s full of home fans, mostly on their way from the train station to the ground. (Away fans are not allowed in.)

You take pot luck here; much depends upon the night of the week. Thursday to Saturday it’s usually packed with ridiculous hen parties or groups of teenagers on the lager. Other nights it’s much quieter, and the real ale is usually OK, and at £1.75 a pint the price is right. I do remember when it used to attract a better clientele, theatre-​goers or shoppers, but they are probably put off by its current atmosphere. You’d think it had a secret door to the benefits office.
²⁰⁄₁₁ Since my last review, developments! Sadly, Anna and her hubby, managers, have been edged out, and this is a great shame as the quality of the beer had soared. Anna took a keen interest in beer quality, but Wetherspoons one supposes think there are more important things to judge staff by. I wait with trepidation.
