Underhill Primary School

This is actually no longer Underhill Primary after extensive improvement and a huge change it was renamed a couple of years ago to Berrybrook, It now hosts vast education resources, including a baby and children centre for 0 – 3 years called The Berries, and a nursery class for 3 – 5 years and then Berrybrook infant and Junior school, followed by an adult education centre within the school itself! Actually this is now a great school with great potential, and it is growing more popular every year. It was taken of special measures after the arrival of a new head teacher in 2002 and since then has fantastic ofstead inspections. Children want to get in to this school above some of the old other favourites such as Long Knowle, due to the care and support from the teachers for both parent and child. They still have a few issues with some children but seem to tackle them head on. The head and staff have done wonders over the past five years with this school, and deserve credit.
