Tons of Virgin employees standing around smoking outside. All of them extremely rude. Not rude by American standards, but by British standards. Don’t ask anyone for help because you surely won’t get it. On New Years Day 2015 at 9am, the coffee shop was closed because of a robbery that took place. Did anyone bother to tell the 15 people waiting for them to open? Not until someone walked out & asked when would they open. WH Smith sign indicated they opened at 8am but the employee inside refused to open until 10am. And WHY are all walkways going to train station on an incline? With those awful bumps in the pavement? Makes it extremely difficult to roll your luggage up & through. ALSO…the info board for departures is not clear. I had tickets for a 9:37am train to Crewe. Crewe not listed anywhere. Apparently you have to guess which train is yours. Mine was to some other place not on my ticket & had I not asked a rude Virgin rep I would have missed my train. They do an awful job of announcing arriving & departing trains so don’t expect to hear an announcement.
