Swan

Is it is not often that I get into this part of the world. So when my local friend suggested that we go for lunch before my return journey to London, I jumped at the chance.
As I was in a rush, I did not have a chance to sample the many delicious looking appetizers that were on offer here. However, after perusing the menu and deliberating for some time, I plumped for the braised duck with hoisin burger.
We did not have to wait too long for our food, and soon I was presented with a well — ordered wooden block with my lunch on. I must say, the food here is as well presented as the tasteful décor of the place. Even though it was just a burger and fries, there was clearly effort made to do their best with every dish.
The duck was moist and tasty, and the fries were great too. If this was a clue as to how great the rest of the food is here, I would love to return.
Hopefully if I do get the chance to return, I will have the full three courses next time!

10 december just had our xmas meal here today at 12 noon fabby all the starters were great good timings staff were a bit morose though garlic mushrooms and great portions of prawn cocktail mains of beef and sea bass superb coffee and mince pies all great
one thing when I entered and ordered a glass of white wine no questions were asked about dry or medium that’s a bit unusual I thought but overall it was great our table of 10 really enjoyed it well done the swan

My husband and I went to The Swan just before Christmas for a meal. I can honestly sayit was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Beautifully presented and the flavours were to die for. It is not cheap but not over expensive either. A meal with starters and main course, wine and coffee came to £60 for the two of us. Worth every penny. Ideally positioned at J7 M5 it is an ideal place for business men to meet up.
I would say the only draw back is if you arrive between 3 and 4 pm you will probably have a hard job to park or hit a mountain of traffic coming out of the pub car park. The owner allows parents to use his car park when they drop off or pick up their children from the local school.

Despite the unassuming exterior this pub is gorgeous inside. Very friendly and polite staff, a nice and eclectic menu and a good bar offering Jennings amongst others on tap.
We had starters of prawn & crayfish (cocktail), goats cheese salad, broccoli & Stilton soup and a rocket & Parmesan salad followed by ‘posh’ hot dog, lamb burger, vegetable curry & chicken Caesar salad with a chicken, mash & baked bean for our little one.
Portions are large so the additional onion rings & chips were a mistake! All the food was delicious and well presented. Mash on the children’s meal was not loaded with salt & dairy, a pleasant change.
You wouldn’t know that it is a stone’s throw from Junction 7 of the M5, a definite destination when we head south west in future!
Well done The Swan!

Have had several excelent meals here. The staff are very friendly and helpful and we always have a good night. Had the ‘Authentic Malaysian Curry (chicken)’ the other night and it was delicious and well worth it. The only downside to this place is that the menu isn’t as varied as I’d like lots of basic pub grub but the specials are excelent if they haven’t sold out before you get there!
My number 1 tip for this place — get there early and order quick!
