Why does one pick a hotel? Convenience? Comfortable place to sleep? Good food? Reasonable bar? Spa? Nice amenities?
Well, Lanes Hotel and Spa has all of these. It was located across the street from our friends house (literally). The bed was super comfortable, although the room was a bit hot and had no AC. The food was really good with a good selection. The bar was quite cheap with an excellent selection of beer, wine and spirits. Didn’t get to sample the spa, but their selection of options was quite impressive. The room was very modern, well sized, the grounds were great (even included a couple of goats!), there was a family room complete with Playstation, billiards table, flat screen TV showing sports, comfy sofas and an overall really good vibe to the place.
I can just about guarantee that we will stay here again. The price was exceptionally good, £100 for one night and we felt we got a lot out of it! Highly recommend this place.

Most months I spend a few hours in this excellent hotel to catch up on my snail-​mail reading. It was originally the old Rectory and has been tastefully restored and expanded.
The whole atmosphere in the hotel is one of welcome and friendliness. It is family owned and managed. One really feels at home the reception is very informal and client friendly.
Excellent for business lunches, meetings etc.
There are apartments attached which can be rented also. The garden is very well maintained and a delightful place to spend time just strolling or sitting and reading.
A place for a special celebration for sure.

Have eaten here on at least four occassions, always as a guest of someone else. It is expensive and the portions are minute. We always have to ask for more vegetables. How can you serve a Christmas turkey meal without roast potatoes i can’t imagine but they did. The waitresses were lacking personality and seemed miserable. We even had to ask for more cranberry sauce. It is a very modern setting with high ceilings and very very noisy
