ahh I lovely little bakers in a lovely little market town. So often the only choice of bakers are the chains, such as woodheads/cooplands/greggs and whilst the food is always fresh and tasty its the same whichever one you go in. Clarks is different, as it is one of a kind — and the food here is delicious! My favourite is the sausage rolls, the pastry is just the right texture, not soggy like certain other well know bakers — and the filling is meaty without being fatty and the mix of spice is just right. The cakes are superb, the traditional Yorkshire curd tart is perfect perfect perfect. For the kids there is always a little novelty type cake, my daughters favourite is the decorated biscuits — which are quite large for little appetites, which is good for mums as we get left overs!
