Lovely food, generous portions, cool, trendy staff I was a Glaswegian in York, but it was very evocative of a movie taverna in Mexico. A must!

Yes the ambiance is nice, but maybe the worst Mexican I have ever had. I had a vegie combo plate with an enchilada and taco. Meh. Seperate order of blended store bought guac. Meh Margaritas weak and meh. When I asked for hot sauce they were at first perplexed and then offered tabasco. A woman at the table next to me asked about the house white wine was and the waiter said«we have dry or medium.» She asked if it was like a Chardenney. He said«all we have is dry or medium.» Meh.

The food was fantastic & faultless. I would definitely recommend but make sure you’re not in a hurry — hard to judge on a first visit but the service tonight was very slow. Don’t let that put you off though, the staff are friendly, the food great and a good atmosphere too!

A friendly and atmospheric restaurant near the centre of picturesque York. My Fajita chicken was cooked well and tasted great. The tortillas are kept nice and warm wrapped in a towel. On the downside, I was disappointed at the low quality cheese and uninspired diced tomato which appeared as 2 of the fillings. My dining partner had chorizo in his Fajitas which tasted very good indeed. For the price I would have hoped for a little Guacamole, but no. Also, there was a distinct lack of jalapenos. A fatal mistake in a Mexican restaurant! I would expect both of the these as standard with Fajitas. Their choice of coffees to round off your meal is filter, filter and filter. No lattés, no cappuccinos etc. It was however, presented to us in a nice pot, which was partial compensation for the lack of choice. A word of warning: They must be one of the few restaurants who don’t accept American Express, which considering the number of American tourists in York is nothing short of madness.

Great décor inside, sit up stairs if you can as large groups tend to be seated downstairs. Food is good
