Only go if Doc is leading tour. This is a strenuous hike with loads of history. Tour leaves from St Thomas Hook, Line and Sinker restaurant. Reservations required, must call St Thomas historical trust( ). Tour left at 8:30 am and was scheduled to be 3 – 4 hours but due to Doc’s thorough answers, tour got finished slightly after 1pm. Well worth the money but be prepared with lots of water, good shoes(sandy, rocky trail) and heat. Doc tells a mean story, he was training a new tour guide, Sherry, who had to read the stories and couldn’t answer any questions. Make sure you eat at Pie Whole after the tour, great local pizza.
