Speakeasy bar Great scenery and a cool place. Serving lovely cocktails and food. Their cocktail are among the best I have tried, but they are quite expensive. 150 – 230 pesos is in the top range in BA. I was a bit surprised of the quality of the food, my steak was perfectly medium rare as requested and the fish was spot on also. The food was from 170 – 210 for mains so they were not expensive. Cool speakeasy bar with fantastic coctails and great food. Just be aware of the price of the cocktails ;)

Beautifully designed speakeasy concept cocktail bar & lounge. Quiet street, unassuming industrial entry where you’ll need a password. The doorman will give you a code to dial from the phone booth(a la PDT in NYC), which will unlock the wall/door in the booth leading you into the foyer/hallway. At the end of the hallway it opens into a beautifully appointed, chandelier-clad bar area. The bartenders are professional mixologists. Ordered two cocktails from the menu and one off-menu whiskey-based drink(bartender’s choice). Expertly prepared & executed. Pricing comparable to a cocktail at my bar(SIPBAR&LOUNGE in San Francisco– shameless plug, sorry). I’d recommend it to any fellow San Francisco residents traveling to BsAs.

Really really nice place to have one drink, or a date night. Place is really pricy for BA standards. 200 pesos or $ 15USD for a drink. Now I would normally say $ 15.00 for a craft cocktail/drink is pretty standard in the US but in Buenos Aires 200 pesos can buy you a steak dinner so for all my fellow travelers out there, come here for the experience but go elsewhere if you want to have a wild night!

Já tinha ido uma vez antes no Frank’s e fiz questão de voltar. É um local incrível, uma viagem sensacional pelo mundo dos cocktails, o atendimento é excelente e é com certeza um lugar que vale a pena conhecer.

Hands down my favorite cocktail experience in South America, and perhaps even ever. Frank’s is a dramatic two-room, two-story speakeasy in Palermo that has a daily password required for entry(this can be found on Twitter). After speaking with the doorman and hostess, we were brought to a phone booth with a hidden door that opened into the space. Pretty cool entry! Once inside, the place feels cozy but upscale with a vaulted 2-story ceiling and balcony on the second level for diners. Part of the menu is written on the wall(seasonal options), but they also have a cocktail book for their entire menu. My boyfriend and I arrived around 10PM and found the place alive but not overly crowded. Just the right amount of guests for it still to feel date-like. We posted up at the bar and were happy to find two seats become available after only about 10 minutes. Once seated, our experience really got started. The head bartender Alejandro really took care of us– chatting with us at length about the drinks, making cocktails in front of us, introducing us to ingredients, and even giving us tastes of the drinks he was making! Although we initially had plans for later in the evening, we scraped those to stay at Frank’s longer. We spent about 4 hours at the bar chatting with Alejandro(alongside another set of guests). He’s extremely creative, made us a few off menu cocktails, and really added to the uniqueness of the experience. This place is a must-do in BA!

This was a pretty awesome recommendation from one of our friends for cocktail bars in Palermo. I’m sort of a sucker for speakeasies, and this was one of the more involved ones I’ve been to yet. On a very unassuming street, you have to declare the password to the doorman, and then once you do, you walk to a telephone booth that the doorman will give you an access code for. Certainly a lot of steps, but pretty well executed, actually. After entering, you see a very dark, intimate area with some nice couches for lounging, while the back area is brighter-lit and has the full bar, and a second level with more seating. It’s certainly much more touristy here, as most of the clientele doesn’t seem like they’re from around the area, but it doesn’t really take away from the vibe at all. Nonetheless, it’s definitely very scene-y. The DJ up on the second floor was spinning some 90/00’s rock(Chili Peppers, Blur, Killers) before moving onto more modern American pop songs from artists such as The Weeknd and DJ Snake. After going to other bars in the area that played mostly pop hits in Spanish, I could see that this was more of an outlier, but I didn’t mind. We managed to snag some seats at the bar after befriending a very friendly couple that was just about to leave. We ordered a bunch of different drinks: smoked rosemary old-fashioned, pisco sours, the power of the tonic(basically a gin and tonic with honey and extra lemon). The bartenders certainly know what they’re doing, and you can witness them practicing their craft. My smoked rosemary old-fashioned was a bit on the sweeter side, but still very strong, and the bartender actually used a blowtorch to light the rosemary, which was pretty gimmicky, but still kinda cool. The pisco sours was pretty delicious, and the power of the tonic came in a huge glass, and was very strong. The prices here are definitely more expensive than most bars in the area, with cocktails running from AR$ 150 – 200(USD $ 11 – 15). However, they’re using very quality ingredients, and the service is excellent and very attentive, so in all, a very quality product. Definitely worth a visit if you’re going out in Palermo. It’s certainly a very intimate space, while also providing a plethora of delicious, well-crafted drinks.

What a great time we had at Frank’s in Palermo Soho Buenos Aires while visiting March 2015. We had been exploring a few places close by the hotel and expo center when we were invited to Franks. Loved the vibe! Very hip, jazz playing, upscale vibe with amazing cocktails. My Inkmaster clients had a blast with the owner who could not have been more fun! I heard he owns a few other places in Palermo we need to check out next March when we visit. Highly recommend for an awesome chill yet totally NYC Soho style experience!

Went on a late Wed morn/Thurs night. Good place for couples and groups. Cocktail list not extensive but sophisticated. Not so much refreshing more sour and darker flavours. Price reasonable by UK standards. Good music vibe. If I was being unkind perhaps the place needs a bit more edge.
