On our very first night in Buenos Aires, my friend and I experienced a puerta cerrada(closed door) restaurant. Our hotel concierge made the booking for us and said it was a nice place. We went there by cab and it felt a bit weird to be dropped in front of a building in such a quiet street. Until someone came to open the door we weren’t sure we were at the right location. But that’s the whole point right? We were friendly welcomed into an small apartment. There were about max 15– 20 siting places. The atmosphere was subdued(a bit too dark according to me). The holders of this place are a couple. You don’t know the menu in advance neither the price. Dishes came one by one, always with a nice explanation from the Chef doing his best in English. Drinks, wine mostly, was served by his wife. The food was good and well presented. However, we had had a huge steak for lunch and were very jetlagged so we didn’t enjoy it as much as we should have I think but the whole experience was cool. I also found the price a bit high(400AR$ per person).

Hermoso.

A really lovely place if you want to check out the«closed door» scene in Buenos Aires. You can make reservations online via email and then they send you the address. The owners are a husband and wife with the husband as the chef and the wife as the sommelier. The food was very good and the atmosphere was different from anything I had experienced before since it was literally like having a very nice meal cooked in a friend’s home. It was definitely an experience worth having in Buenos Aires.

While visiting Buenos aires, I wanted to check out one of the puertas cerradas(closed door) restaurants the city has to offer. I made my reservation online and through email and was then given the address. Considering this was my first dinner in BsAs, it was an amazing welcome to the city. The owners are a husband and wife, where she is the sommelier and he is the chef. You must pay in cash in US dollars, but it is well worth it. The service was incredible and the food, flawless. My only suggestion would be to install another air conditioning unit, or have more air circulating because in the heat of summer, we were quite sweaty with the heat coming from both the kitchen and outside. Would definitely recommend & would love to return!
