Delicious food recommended by our hotel staff — a quick 15 min walk from our hotel in Retiro. Initially walking in they have a counter area where you can order take out or eat at a counter for 1 – 2 persons. Then it opens up to a restaurant area. Plenty of beers in stock in cold fridges. The cashier/waiter spoke a little English and we ordered off Spanish menus(which was well organized). Free wifi is available — access details are printed on the menu. A bunch of 90s music was playing including the Cranberries and Lenny Kravitz. Now the meat. SOGOOD. I wasn’t expecting much but I was impressed. We had done other Parillas in Buenos Aires but this one didn’t have a ridiculous wait to get in and service was good. I had the Bife de Chorizo which had a good flavoured fat/meat ratio but other choices of Bife de Lomo and Ojo de Bife were good as well. This was accompanied by Fritas(French Fries) and a Mixed Ensalada(Salad). Along with some local Quilmes beer we were well fed. The one guy who spoke English did check on us throughout the night and was quick to respond when we needed anything. The bill came on a post it note and they took our Visa card. Note that Chip/Pin cardholders will need to go behind the counter to enter their pin. Plenty of locals came in for takeout and we were the only non locals at 9:30pm on a weekday night. Great place — would totally come back again!

Not very visible from outside it is funky inside and they offer good food and friendly service. Looked like most of the patrons were local that is always a good sign. We shared Bife de Charizo and if was done just a way we liked it. As additional bonus for tourists at least somebody on the staff speaks English. They were open on May 1 when many places are closed.
