Fuente y Fonda

Been a few times to this restaurant. The food is great and a very warm and friendly atmosphere. We’ve been there just 2 or 3 people but also had a couple of events with 20 people. And each time it was excellent. Highly recommend. Something different.

Fuente y Fonda has a super cool aesthetic aaaand I love their originality. I don’t know any other restaurants that serve food family-​style like this! It’s fun for a group dinner, but the food isn’t fantastic. The idea was there, but the dishes fell flat. They were all pretty bland. A highlight was the churrasco de ternera (steak). The milanesas napolitanas and the canoles were pretty average. I did however love the beet spread they served with the bread! Addicting enough for me to eat it plain off my plate… Oooops. Overall, really fun place and worth a visit.

this little joint is known for big size meals enough to share as a family. they do very simple and beautiful argentine food. Pastel (shepards pie) and breaded beef with cheese and tomatoes. torillas (potatoes, herbs and a bit of egg). all amazing. the pastel was super tasty. it is served with cinnamon and sugar which at first you think it is crazy, but try it out. it brings the taste to a whole new level. bread basket is really great. and the water is free! a rare treat :)

Very basic restaurant, feels like you’re in someone’s home rather than a restaurant. The staff was nice, though barely spoke English! The perk here is the water and dessert is on the house. We ordered one app and one main dish the Milanesa. It was tasty. Very Italian style reminded me of veal parm. It was breaded steak with cheese on top, tomatoes and ham. Overall tasty and not overpriced restaurant. For a low key night would recommend!

Excelente relacion calidad-​precio. Atención excelente, todos muy amables. Los platos son bien caseros y para compartir. Parece comida de la abuela jaja.
El agua es libre al igual que el pan y trabajan con nespresso.
Está ubicado frente a Plaza Italia.

Not my favorite food (e g. Carnes de Argentina) here, mostly Italian style dishes (pastas, lasagna), but excellent value for money. Not catering to the typical tourist, but mostly locals. For the first time in.2wks I choose a non meat dish (fish, as in fish and chips, but without the chips, but with a very nice warm quiche like spinach dish and an ‘ok’ salad. Outstanding very nice personal-​like friendly service. Great wine selection (as expected I the Mendoza area). Highly recommend it unless you are looking for meat only (no lamb/​Cordero and only one type of steak). All dishes are for 2+ and even then large portions. Free wifi as in most places.

Very nice ambiance in the patio, decent wine selection and good service. I want to give them more stars but the server forgot to bring out our food for a while and my friend did not like her plate (the duck escabeche).

You might think these meals are simple, they are not. These guys somehow got the essence of our grandmother’s meals and put them into our tables once again. Great tastes and a really cool place.

Vieron esos lugares que intentan recrear la comida de madres y abuelas? Bueno, Fuente y Fonda es uno de éstos, y logra este objetivo con cinco estrellas. Por empezar, el ambiente, un PH reciclado, te hace acordar a la casa en que por ahí creciste o visitaste cuando eras pequeño, aggiornada con mesas para grupos y una mesa comunitaria al fondo; además tiene un patio que supongo que en días cálidos es una locación ideal para una cena.
Vayamos a lo importante: la carta es corta, lo que al principio me generó mis dudas. Hay entradas de lo más tradicional: lengua a la vinagreta; sopa de calabaza; revuelto Gramajo; buñuelos de acelga y los principales anuncian que son porciones (bandejas) para compartir. Hay pastel de papas, canelones de verdura gratinados, tallarines con milanesas (!!!) que vienen en fuentes de un tamaño para que coma una familia, que van desde los 230 a los 270 pesos. Al principio parece un poco mucho, pero la verdad es que con un principal pueden comer bien hasta tres personas, lo que baja mucho lo que uno termina pagando.
La comida, sino lo dije antes, tiene ese toque casero, imperceptible, que no se logra en todos lados, destaco especialmente los buñuelos, que tenían el mismo sabor que los de mi abuela. Te sirven agua filtrada en botella, y tienen línea Pepsi en latas. Los postres son old fashioned y vienen gratis si venís de pedir una de las bandejas: flan con ddl; manzana asada; postre de chocolate y vigilante con dulce de membrillo, todo caserísimo. Está abierto al mediodía y si andan por Mendoza es una opción muy recomendable en esa hermosa ciudad.

Tipico lugar de fonda. Lugar cálido para almorzar o cenar. La carta es pequeña y cambia todas las semanas. Los platos son para compartir, incluyen el postre y el agua es libre. La carta de vinoa está bien.
La atención es muy buena y los platos no demoran en llegar.

Un gran lugar. Los platos son a compartir. La relación precio-​calidad es excelente. Por cada plato para 2 vienen incluidos 2 postres. El agua es libre, y la carta de vinos esta mas q bien. La carta es chica y va cambiando por dia. El ambiente es muy calido. Un gran lugar para comer y beber muy bien.
