Was a catch up with two of my children as we had all just arrived in Adelaide. Was recommended by a local. Was very pleasant apart from them forgetting my coffee.

Ventured here with Vegan daughter, a nice place to have breakfast, generous serves and friendly staff. It is very busy and noisy, but this is a good thing I guess. Coffee is nice, the little stools that my daughter and I sat on are not that comfortable in all honesty, this does not detract from the lovely food and atmosphere. So I felt trendy being here even though I am not trendy at all.

Inside a generous seating area, thick plywood tables, with black overlay, the chairs and stools are a blond wood, the ceiling is set off in grey. As a feature thick black plywood used on the tables, are built into the ceiling in strips, with light shades hanging from them. This has created a very modern appealing, functional dining area. Placed around the walls are some good art photo’s. The menu is packed with a large range of food options, all at affordable prices. We enjoyed an Argo omelette, with shallots, mushrooms, chilli, diced tomato, baby spinach leaves & provolone cheese, served with organic rye bread. Our order was well prepared, with out a great delay and served by very attentive friendly staff. We finished our breakfast with a good coffee, relaxed and could well understand how this Café is so busy.

I had a coffee before jumping on my bus. Half way drinking it there was a worm in my coffee! Dry reaching on a bus is not fun!!!

The sibling of the Parade café is an incredibly popular morning coffee spot and with lots of breakfast options to choose from I ended up here for a spontaneous week day brunch pre-university class. I really like the décor and the staff are lovely. The display cabinets tend to be less full than the Parade store but there’s still plenty of yummy options available. My divinity juice(apple, lemon, ginger, and potentially celery) was really lovely. Just as tart as it should be, yet still feeling good on the stomach with a good percentage of fresh ginger. The tea menu is excellent and my friend’s mocha looked delightful. I opted for the vegan quinoa porridge as it was gluten free and I am a coeliac. It came out looking beautiful with a line of banana and strawberry on top and a generous dollop of cashew cream. The pepitas and almonds mixed through were delightful. The maple syrup and cinnamon flavours were a little too strong though and I think they need to be dialled back slightly. Also it was just not as warm as I would have liked. No one wants to burn themselves on porridge but there’s something intrinsically comforting about having a bit of heat on a cool-ish morning. My friend went for the smashed avocado and opted to add smoked salmon, it looked really yummy. However, neither of us could finish our meals. I can’t stand food waste but I was so full I had to leave a few spoonfuls. You can definitely visit hungry! Nice service, a few little flaws, but overall a good brunch spot!

I must have been the last person in SA to check out Argo. I dropped by a few weeks ago to pick up my morning coffee on my way to work. A big detour from Please Say Please to be sure. I was underwhelmed. The coffee was reasonable, but it was the staff that let the experience down. I placed my order. Half a dozen or so after me placed theirs. I was the last to receive my order. I told the barista this, as I collected my brew. His response: «Oh. Ok. Sorry.» Coffee: 3.5 Service: 2

After a half dozen visits this year when I am visiting Adelaide I have been impressed with both their coffee and takeaway items such as the banana bread; however this visit I managed to squeeze in some good, and it was oh so tasty and good! Having eaten up a storm the night before I was not certain how I would fare but knowing I might not eat till late that day I decided to order the bacon sandwich; the name does not do it justice! Super fresh lettuce and tomato, with generous serving of avocado, a rather nice aioli and tasty bacon; I could not leave any of this fish it was far too nice.

Trendy Café right in the heart of Adelaide CBD. Lots of «alternative» options for those with food allergies for milk options alone include — full fat, skim, lactose free, rice milk, coconut milk, almond milk & soy. The menu is super user friendly with an easy to follow format. Lots of keys indicating the gluten free, vegan and vego options. Staff are casually dressed with the standard full body butchers aprons. Baristas have a hipster vibe and the coffee is YUM! and looks great too. My only negatives are that it is a touch on the expensive side and the artificial plasticky plants that are covering the back wall and hanging from the ceiling really detract from the otherwise«organic» type atmosphere.

I’m a regular at Argo. It is a good all rounder and has lots of selection, catering to a lot of different eaters(gf, vegan etc). Be warned though, a coffee and protein ball will leave you with little change from a tenner. I’ve had a very nice breakfast here, as well as smoothies and some great vegan treats. The coffee is good, but the almond milk coffees need a bit of work as they can come out a bit thin and watery and often are very hot. I like Argo and it’s a good place to run into people who work all over the city.

I first found myself at Argo on a Unilocal/SALA coffee tour, so no surprises here that the coffee is so gosh-darn-good. That first delicious introduction into Argo’s coffee philosophy and ethical standpoint intrigued me to return again and sample the menu with great reward and Argo on the Square has become a go-to place for brunch/lunch/coffee in the city. Argo has top notch indie-cred, from the tips of its alphabetically numbered tables to its art installation toes. A relaxed ambiance inside allows for laid backed conversations and solo working power sessions and I’ve always felt welcome to linger after my cups have been emptied. Busy times here are definitely the lunch period and between 10 to 12 various meetings are held by the suits in here but I’ve never struggled to find a table. Food here is quite good, some options are displayed under the glass if you’re thinking of a sandwich or cake, or you can order off the menu. I’m quite partial to their delicious sugar waffles, and the burger is quite excellent for those who insist on savoury meals in these settings.

The coffee is pretty good but the other drinks are awesome. There’s so much to choose from, which can be a bit tricky, but you can’t help but feel healthy for having a smoothy, juice or one of their interestingly emerald coloured concoctions. The food selection is immense and interesting, from super healthy salads to super … not so healthy, mmm… burgers. The staff are lovely; they remember your name, your order, your birthday* — it’s great! *might not be true

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday and a catch up with a friend. The mediterranean vege foccacia was delicious(especially the pesto!) and filled me up. Orders are placed at the counter and were delivered quickly. We sat outside at the funky multi-coloured tables and chairs(a talking point!). Inside seemed a bit dim and loud, even though it wasn’t full. Would love to come back to try one of their juices or smoothies– they looked pretty yummy. Overall great food and coffee at a funky place for a reasonable price.

I went here for breakfast on a Tuesday morning, it was quiet and the place was clean, staff friendly all of the other ambience related things were spot on. I ordered the veggie breakfast, $ 16. It was okay, a bit watery really with the spinach not really drained enough. I found it was a bit overpriced and boring.

Where the coffee is smooth and not too tart. The service is commendably friendly and your order arrives quick smart! The décor is arty and there’s always something new. Your friends will think you’re trendy, and so will you. Every month a new table setting appears, From pomegranates to orchids and things that bring cheer. So check out Argo on The Square. You’ll always get a drink or a bite for a price that’s fair.

I come here quite often, since this place is in the building I work in … I get my soy lattes from here, as well as the delicious dark hot chocolate(though I’m not keen on their long blacks). I feel bad giving Argo only 3 stars(since the staff are *so* friendly), but the food isn’t as great as this super-packed venue would lead you to believe. I had eaten lunch here before, but saved doing a review until I had been here for breakfast. I ordered the Argo Deluxe, which is a ‘Toasted lepinja with grilled bacon, fried egg, Swiss cheese & Bbq sauce’ — it would have been delicious if the lepinja wasn’t so hard and crispy! I had that same problem last time — the bread is toasted so much, it’s difficult to tell whether it’s stale or not. Another on our table orderd the omelette, which arrived with a couple of pieces of super-hard bread without butter(though the omelette itself looked good!). So I guess my tip is to order anything without bread, or ask the staff to not over-toast ;)
