I adore this restaurant. Not only is it fully vegetarian, all meals can be made vegan and most meals can be gluten free, which I think is fantastic. If you haven’t been to Two-Bit Villains, I’d highly recommend it. This restaurant serves burgers, hot dogs, an array of sides and some awesome homemade sodas! My favourite burger is the Baron Burger and my favourite soda is the Apple and Lychee. I’d highly recommend it!

Cute and spacious casual eating spot in Rundle Mall with a vegetarian, prodominently vegan menu that wouldn’t be intimidating to an open minded omnivore. My faviourite menu item is their own range of fizzy drinks(soda if you want to use their own Americana inspired paralance ;)) and the no foul burger which is flipping fantastic. Best burgee ever. Some menu items are much stronger than others, I feel like the place is developing and growing, with a young staff and enthusiastic approach to doing something new and fun in Adelaide; it has a lot of creative merit in every way. My only criticism is that a couple times they’ve been out of what I wanted to order. Also they don’t have a phone line, my Nanna wanted to make a booking and a website is in accessible for her age group. They didnt have a highchair around, and the décor is so pretty i wouldve had a nicer lunch with my kids in a chair and not running about trying to stop them touching all the knickknacks, it meant the grownups had to tag team eat our lunch. All in all though, great little spot and well worth a visit so long as you’re not under 4 or over 80.

I’ve been to TBV when they only had a small store in Adelaide Arcade, and now that they’ve moved to the high coveted balcony area of the Arcade(which, unfortunately was under reno and not open to the public at the time), we decided to give it another go. The store area is now much bigger with insanely beautiful columns and remnants of the gorgeous arcade prominent. Décor is simple, going for the chilled back, relaxing Hawaiian slash American surf slash 50s pin-up look. You should also know that this is a strictly vegan place, so every meat item on the menu has been substituted with ‘meat’ — either soy or beans. Which might not necessarily be the most appetising for meat lovers like myself, but would be great for vegans. I got the Sloppy Joe burger, which as the name suggests, was rather sloppy. I had issues last time with the patty being really soggy and wet, and it was the same this time round as well. The burger itself wasn’t very inspiring, the fillings were basic and the ‘meat’ wasn’t overly marinated. The buns were well toasted and cheesed however. The chips were a standout. I got a milkshake as well, the choc peanut shake, which was good but it wasn’t anything memorable. Overall, come if you’re a vegan or vegetarian food lover, but if you’re looking for something more, give it a miss.

This place has a great ambience that reminded me of Hawaii somehow. I went with a few mates and ordered to share. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a Baron Burger, Chilli Cheese Fries and sodas. Everything was great, a highlight was the barbecue-y sauce in my burger but the burger’s aftertaste was a little starchy, but then again, this is vegan food. Chilli cheese fries were awesome; seasoned generally well but some areas were too salty and uneven. The sodas we ordered were two creaming sodas, one blackberry and one passion fruit. My friends could not overstate enough on how amazing they were, and we all swapped drinks but I was the only one who found them slightly too sweet. Resembled a dilute carbonated syrup instead of a soda. But the whole experience was amazing. We came early just as they opened and received seats immediately, but people who came later on had to wait for a few minutes, so if you have a large number, I really suggest to make reservations.

Ahh, I remember when Two Bit Villains used to sell swell dresses in their tiny set up a few doors down from their current location with some rockabilly style and swing skirts flattering to many a lady. How times have changed. Now exclusively food, Two-Bit caters to the vegetarian and vegan crowds looking to tap into the Americana-burger craze that has been ongoing in Adelaide for a few years now. The set-up in the picturesque Adelaide Arcade is bright and airy with seating that quickly fills on the lunch rush. I came up here most recently for a quick bite just after the doors opened and all the large tables were taken or booked so for those greater than a party of 3 may want to book ahead. The menu has gone over a couple of re-dos but currently features a selection of veggie burgers, veggie dogs and nachos which have the option of being all vegan and also with some allergy adjustments. I’m not a vegetarian and do become sceptical over faux meats and the like, but I’m always a fan of a solid veggie burger. My last trip in I tried the El Bandido burger and the mix of beans and quinoa worked well although a solid chipotle mayo really brought it all together. French fries on the side were crispy and well salted however I agree with a previous reviewer who mentioned that there may be something in the oil that just doesn’t quite seem right. My lemon squash soda was ice cold and sweet coming out quickly and service was prompt. I was in and out in half an hour which suited me perfectly. Two-Bit Villains is great for a casual lunch with your veggie friends in a cool setting in the CBD and is probably the most interesting place to lunch on the Rundle Mall strip.

Waited 40 minutes for the food to come out. The onion rings were hot — nothing else was, in fact was barely luke warm.(A massive timing error obviously). We did not have time to send it back, and the car park bill was increasing. We decided to mention it after eating. Mentioned the problem, and all she could do was make a grimace and said sorry, but no offer of a discount or a voucher for next time etc. Was very disappointed. Décor was bad kitsch, not good kitsch, and the little couch seats near the window were extremely uncomfortable. Will not be returning.

Heavy hangover food cure. Good that its vegan. Quite heavy oily food. Good to fix that hangover. But. The wait for a burger and onion rings was 45 mins. That’s a bit much when your head is pounding…

I might be in the minority, but I did not enjoy Two-Bit Villains. The food is very vegan, meaning that there seemed to be few things on the menu that weren’t filled with either beans or soy. The fries I had were ok, but tasted like a strange oil or something that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. We went on a hot night — the place wasn’t packed, but it too forever for us to get our food. It smelled kind of weird(maybe all the beans?) and isn’t somewhere I’d go back to.

Take two after being informed of the new location(note to self, address needs updating). New venue is spacious, in a prime location with great balcony. The lady attending me seemed high strung and not the most welcoming, clashing with the scenery and previous reviews. Being infected with the burger epidemic affecting Adelaide, this place prides on its vegetaran versions. Came in expecting a five star vegetarian burglar, so asked for el bandido(get it?!). The onion rings were good. And the burger too, not the best, certainly not the worst. But at $ 17, seems like we are really helping pay rent. not sure why I just got a small glass of water when other tables got a carafe. Maybe I’m not supposed to drink water. Will return? Maybe. Definitely not at the top of my lunch places.

I love this place. Went to experience the the space in Adelaide Arcade and I can see how the new space will allow them to grow. I was a little annoyed that we couldn’t sit outside on the balcony but I’m sure that will be possible soon. Also the day we went a delivery hadn’t arrived so the menu was reduced to a handful of items. Given we went to try the new stuff I was annoyed at this too. All that annoyance disappeared when the food came out and I was reminded why I love this place. It still needs time to grow into its new huge venue and I’ll keep coming back to see how it progresses.

Even though it’s not vegan and they use straws, every other thing about this boiger joint is spot-on. The kitschy décor, wide range of choices and awesome music(first time in ages I haven’t listened to my own music at a restaurant/café) make all the difference. The friendly, helpful staff are worth a star of their own. I had a blueberry soda, soy doggie and the veggieburger:; all amazing. I wish I could go back there soon :(

The hand crafted sodas here are what brought me in, but the burgers, hot dogs and staff are what have kept me a loyal customer. As a meat lover, I doubted the draw of vegan hotdogs, but HOTDAMN! Those wieners are without a doubt way better than the processed meat rubbish you usually find. On top of that the buns are super soft and the produce always fantastically fresh. The Veggie Burger is another winner, as is the Baron Burger. Personally I’m not a fan of the Nacho Man nachos… But hey, the rest is smashing so I have plenty of deliciousness to choose from.

The food can be gluten free friendly, vegan friendly, and the staff are really friendly! The décor is lovely and cool and relaxed and I like the vibe of the place. However, whilst my chai was decent I found the food quite heavy and a lot of the menu involved fried goods. It’s also perhaps a little too heavily salted. The servings are certainly generous though. I did see however salad and soup on the menu so I might try those next time I check in with Two Bit Villains. 3.5÷5

The food at Two Bit-Villains is really something to experience. Especially for those who are not familiar in how vegan food can be so awesomely tasty! First of all, what a funky lil restaurant. They really have made the most out of the space. Cool vintage styled furniture and décor. It feels like an American Diner next to the beach. Definitely fitting in with the Rockabilly American theme of the menu. So, there is a great selection of food and is offered in three different dietary requirements(Which I totally love). You can choose from the Vegan, Vego or Gluten Free menus. There are Hotdogs, Sloppy Joes, Burgers, Onion Rings, Chilli Cheese Fries, Milkshakes, Iced tea, etc, etc. I endeavour to try everything on the menu. Biggest tip, check out the Onion Rings and Chilli Cheese Fries. Oh my! I have vegan friends who go out of their way to travel to Two Bit’s to order this to take home. They are so amazing. As for drinks, check out their Iced Tea menu. As I understand they change that around a bit, so there is something different every now and then. Very tasty. Also, if you(like I do) love rockabilly styled gifts and art, they have a cute little selection of items for sale in the restaurant as well. So, next time you need a flower hair accessory or funky gift for your friend, why not stop in to eat and shop.

I wanted to like Two-Bit Villains, so it might require another visit. Checked it out last week. Service was crazy slow. We were sat at the bar and could see into the kitchen and there looked to be more chatting going on than food preparation. I kid you not, there was about 6 people in the kitchen — and only a couple of plates rolled out every ten or so minutes. It took at least 40 minutes from order to seeing food. The sloppy joe was… sloppy. And substantial. I wasn’t a big fan of the mince. It tasted extremely faux.(And this comes from a former vegan who has eaten his fair share of fauxness.)I reckon lentils would have made for a nicer tasting mince substitute. The onion rings were delicious. As for the soda — delicious, syrupy diabetes waiting to happen. Consume only occasionally and savour every last drop. I will touch back next time I have been.

This meat Eater never, and I mean NEVER orders a vegetarian burger, however for Two Bit Villains I just had to make an exception! I’d looked longingly at the menu and been jealous of every check in that I’m seen for ages and today I finally managed to get myself here… and now I feel a mix of happiness and regret(from too much food) Overcome with the desire to order one of everything, I had to restrain myself and ask for a recommendation and upon this I selected the El Bandito and a cucumber soda float. Yes I had faith in them, even when they said that I should have a cucumber drink with ice cream in it… I hadn’t ordered onion rings as I wasn’t too hungry but when I went to check in and saw all the rave reviews immediately changed my order — and boy am I glad I did! My drink and meal came out quickly and it was all great — even the cucumber float, strange as it sounds! If i was comparing this burger to a regular beef burger, things would be different, however, as far as something sans meat goes, this was kick ass! And those onion rings? They sure did live up to the reviews! The staff were outstanding and i can’t wait to get back(hopefully soon!) To try more!

Ever wanted some ‘dirty American’ food but can’t find it because you’re vegan or eat gluten free? Well fret no more because Two-Bit Villains is here to save the day! Two-Bit Villains is located in a beautiful, yet often overlooked, area of Adelaide — upstairs in the Adelaide Arcade. One of the things I love here is that they provide separate menus for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan(alongside their ‘regular’ menu), so if you follow one of those diets you don’t have to scour through the menu to find something you can eat. A nice little touch that makes everyone feel included! The owners Sass and Liam are also lovely people who really care about making their food good — and good it is! I have to say their onion rings are top of my list for best ever. Their vegan menu will even have carnivores salivating — everything truly is delicious and so well put together. And be aware — if the menu tells you something comes in a large cup — it really means LARGE(try the massive mocha, it’s delicious)! A highlight of TBV for me is their home made soda. The flavours vary from day to day so you get to try your luck for something different each time! Fancy it up and make it a float for extra deliciousness. A great, friendly place for a quiet lunch or a cool drink. Head in and see for yourself!

Cheap, delicious diner food; rot-your-teeth sodas; and bright, cheerful décor that’s the best kind of vintage hipster(the friendly, unpretentious kind). Vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free peeps rejoice: almost everything available to omnivores is available to you with a few modifications, and presented on a menu just for you. Located on the overlooked second floor of Adelaide Arcade, this place is a real hidden gem. Psst: Try the Earl Grey lemonade and Turkish Delight iced tea!

The tunes were spinning, the team are down right cool and ultra lovely to boot, the styling in this place makes me feel like we’ve time warped to 1950’s Hawaii, complete with plastic flamingo drink stirs in my chocolate milkshake. Visiting Two Bit Villains has been our our MUST-DO list for a LONG time now and tonight we finally had a window to get there, and it lived up to all expectations and MORE. The shake was UH_mazing and entirely drinkable in one gulp!), the fries were crunchy and spicy and a super generous serve, the burgers super tasty! These guys make their own Soda’s — The Dirty Root and Apple Pie are a life long favourite! The only problem was, we didnt stay long enough, Im missing it already. We’ll be back soooon TBV! x
