Don’t be fooled by the unassuming shopping centre location, as Portabellas will transport you away from the hustle and bustle. The menu reads well with plenty of options and a choice of two set menus at different price points. For entrée I had the Moroccan meat balls and gnocchi for main. The meatballs were overcooked and left me a little disappointed. The flavour had some good points with a well seasoned offering. The gnocchi was a marked improvement with pillowy soft texture and a eclectic mix of salads. My wife had the pork belly for main and he crackle was the centre piece to the dish and was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately the protein was stringy and dry. If the pork was confit it would have produced a much more tender piece of meat. Overall the service was friendly and attentive with lows and highs coming from the kitchen. Loved it. Food is amazing. I keep coming back. So that is saying something. I ask for medium steak and it always served exactly that. Never had a bad service, cant fault it. They do vary the menu from time to time which keeps it exciting. Have a great range of craft beers

We had an «okay» experience at Portabella(family lunch for 6); in summary, pub grub at city restaurant prices. Service was casual and the place has a nice ambience with the«inside /outside» setting. The table settings were messy and all over the place which combined with plastic laminated tables was a bit off-putting. I had the two-course lunch«special»; entrée of arancini balls which were delish. The calamari main was dry and overcooked. The other mains ordered at our table included the chicken salad and halloumi salad which received varying and mostly positive reviews. For me, I probably wouldn’t bother again; a quick check of the dinner menu set off my «wow, this place is expensive» radar. Maybe its worth it, but given they served me tough, overcooked calamari, I doubt it.

Great food, nice parking. Staff were professional and accommodating. I went for a lunch for 2 during the week. The ambience was comfortable and we were looked after well. My glass of water was never empty. Would recommend for a group or intimate meal. Dress up more than casual. The restaurant belongs closer to town for this kind of food and service. Cheers

One of the nicest places to eat in the North of Brisbane. Always have had a great meal here.

This is like my local nice Restaurant! Its not too high end but a step above your average suburban restaurant. I love it because the menu has a lot of choices and its not concerned with being strictly one school of food or anything. I love the Rib Fillet Sandwich but next time I might go the Linguini! Its great for a couple who wants to just have a nice dinner out without the hassle of travelling into the city and dealing with parking and the crazy prices. If you’re in the area its definitely a place to check out!

This restaurant has had several faces over the past few years. When I first moved to Albany Creek it was called Ambrosia, it then changed hands and was renamed Jaspers — although both of these restaurants provided quality food and reasonable service — there must have been something missing because they were both gone almost as fast as they came… Portabella however is another story. It has been running successfully now for a number of years — using the location to their advantage to promote the restaurant and advertise weekly specials. I really like this restaurant — the food is fresh, tastes good and is very affordable. They put on an amazing spread for Christmas lunch — five courses of festive bliss including a gorgeous goat’s cheese tart and crispy pork belly and scallop fettuccini. They have a great breakfast menu and most items on the menu are less than $ 15! The only thing that lets this place down is the staff seem a little indifferent and it’s hard to catch them smiling…
