I’ve been back to Bellisa several times since I wrote my review — as I mentioned previously it’s one of the few good cafes in the Morley/Bedford area. I popped in again last week to catch up with a friend and we had cakes and coffee. They had a few cakes and slices I haven’t seen before, and as usual, were huge portions. Some of them look a bit rustic and not look like the 5 star creations you get from some patisseries, but that’s what I like about them. Most of the slices are huge, and very reasonable for $ 5. The only problem with Bellisa is really loving something, and never finding it on offer again! They seem to have an ever-changing range of sweet things on offer, so it doesn’t pay to get too attached to anything :)

We used to live just around the corner from Bellisa Café in Bedford, but haven’t been back for breakfast since we moved to Ellenbrook(although it’s Renay’s favourite weekday coffee & savoury muffin destination). We headed there this morning after learning that they had reopened after the Christmas break, and also that they were serving an iced version of one of my favourite drinks, the white chocolate mocha. It’s not a drink I see on menus very often, and I always order it when I do. This iced version — yes, I’m a terrible person for having this at breakfast — was delicious, with the distinct coffee and milky-chocolate components still merging together when it was delivered to the table. There was also something crunchy blended in it — I suspect a biscuit — that added a nice texture without being soggy. All this for $ 5.50? Bargain. Renay chose the bacon and egg«toastie»($ 15) — good luck picking that lot up! Maple bacon and creamy scrambled eggs topped with a tasty tomato chutney. A great start to any day. I ordered the Shakshuka — baked eggs in tomato sauce with feta, Turkish bread and chorizo($ 19). Wow. This was easily one of the best versions of this dish that I’ve had(and there are plenty to be found in Perth at the moment). The sauce was so rich and deep that I lost interest in the chorizo, which is a first for me. There was some kind of herb dumpling in there as well. Apparently it’s one of their most popular dishes, and I can see why — I can’t imagine ordering anything else from the menu the next time I’m there. I’d forgotten how good Bellisa Café is, and this morning was a great reminder. They’re open Tuesday to Sunday from 7:30am for breakfast and lunch, and take a place on my highly recommended list.

What a diamond in the rough! On Sunday morning I set out to find a café in my local area where I could get a great juice and a morning feed, as well as a place where I wouldn’t be judged as a big Posey McPoser as I wanted to get some writing done. Although I almost drove straight past this café(and consequently almost straight up the rear of the car in front of me), I was so glad I gave this place a go! I had a really delicious strawberry and watermelon juice and a giant bagel filled with all the greasy goodness a girl could need. I was left alone to do my thing for as long as I wanted(was even offered an extra coffee) and at the end of all that discovered there was a great little gift nook at the back with some beautiful kitchenware and Christmas decorations! Too bad my purse had smacked me in the face the night before and said, «no more». Find it, try it — worth it.

Despite it’s slightly obscure location this place is the bomb for lovingly made cupcakes, brownies, whoopie pies and anything else that is sinfully delicious! My sweet tooth can never resist the display cakes. It is also the perfect brunch spot and the busy mums and crying babies know it too so avoid the 9:30 morning rush. The food is fresh, tasty and modern offering the basics(eggs, pancakes, toast etc) plus more fancy options like corn fritters and zucchini and feta frittata. The menu is always changing, so plenty of options for a light snack or a hearty meal. This place is worth going out of your way to visit with its friendly staff which will patiently wait while you debate what treat you’ll devour, great bakes, good coffee and a loving homely atmosphere.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover is a fair statement for the outside of this café. With a faded sign and in company of some less then flash establishments it would be easy to pass, but DON’T! Friendly service, an impressive sweet display and a modern yet cosy interior are the first signs of life upon entering, and after sinking your teeth into a chocolate cupcake you’ll have a whole new take on life altogether. This cupcake is not for the faint of heart though. If you believe there is such a thing as «too rich»(well for starters you believe in the wrong thing), this may not be your cupcake. Have no fear though, there is plenty else to choose from. Lunches, brunches, high tea and take aways add to the already impressive display of sandwhiches and salads. My man has been a regular customer her for years and with food this good we will continue for many more.

For a Sunday brunch I reckon this hits the mark. When I’m tired, hungry and a little bit grumpy this place provided a relaxed ambience and good food. After a sweep of the menu I started to get hungry and ordered the frittata. I was craving bacon so I ordered that too. A long black with cream on the side finished the deal. The frittata was done like an omlette — fluffy and light with zuchini and feta. Not what I expected but with a generous portion of bacon heaped in the center I got stuck into it with gusto. Tasty and filling it did the job hands down. The music was toned down and not that thumping beat mix I have experienced at a number of brunch venues around Perth. Left feeling relaxed, full and ready for an afternoon nap!

Discovering this little gem was like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. The only problem is resisting the temptation of strolling down for cake and coffee every day since i live conveniently close by! I was surprised to find such a cute but classy little café tucked away amongst what otherwise appears to be the lesser populated end of Walter road. It’s a «blink and you’d miss it» type hole in the wall from the street view, but inside is a modern yet homely set up of tables and chairs with a cute little kitchenware gift shop at the back. The staff are friendly and are quick to offer you a table and menu. Not only do they have a fantastic breakfast & lunch menu that is always changing, but also on offer is a range of simple take away style lunches in the display cabinet, as well as an extensive range of beautiful, home made cakes & cookies. (A hot tip– the yogurt pistatio cake is absolutely divine as is the fig, chocolate and ricotta baked cheesecake– heaven!) All the food is fresh, locally sourced and made with love. You can tell the owners have put their heart and soul into this place, not only by the combination of flavours and fresh homemade goodness, but you can watch them put it all together in the kitchen through the window too! I could go on and on about Bellisa, but at risk of letting out a reasonably well kept secret, you really must try it out for yourself. Even if you’re just passing through, the coffee is the best you’ll get for miles around, and you just might want to take home a a little treat(or two) that’ll remind you why you’ll be visiting again soon ;-)

A bit of a diamond in the rough, this place is well worth a look. Nestled in a strange location with some dodgy looking shops, they produce excellent toasted sandwiches with Barrett’s bread and coffee is about 8 out of 10. I will be back.

I purchased two take away coffees for $ 9.00 there the other day. Im not sure what I paid for because the location isnt great, and the coffee was some of the worst I’ve tasted. I’ll take the time to go back, and if the experience is better I will amend this score, but at the moment I wasnt impressed at all, and really feel let down after hearing such glowing reviews.

Located in a funny part of town, this cute café with AMAZING baked goods really doesn‘t fit in next to wholesale shops and the Harley Davidson store opposite. Famous specifically for their Whoopie Pies, but their breakfasts are really worth trying too. The coffee and chocolate Whoopie Pie is easily my favourite, but get down early because these delectable half cake half biscuit creations sell out quick!

Revisited this gem the other day for breakfast. Among some classic dishes and some new seasonal options, I ordered the Full Veg breakfast. Not only was it fresh, delicious, varietal and gluten free, it sustained me until dinner! Coffee and service en point too!
