Good choice for breakfast. Coffee wa fine. Food portions generous and tasty. Very busy on a summer Sunday morning. It is such a gorgeous location on the river. Very child and family friendly

Rule number one: don’t go anywhere in Perth on a bank holiday. Or should I say, «do go everywhere» but expect to pay the 10% loading cost(penalty) for eating on a bank holiday. Which I did. Come on Perth, get with the 21st century! This is the second time I’ve been to Walter’s River Café and I have to say that I love the bright and airy white-washed décor. The atmosphere is definitely chilled with the plethora of family members filling the tables with more than just their bodies and the odd five year old crashing her bike into the toilet wall near my table. It’s amazing what happens when you have no brakes! The menu was basic and I have to say that I played it safe going for a Chicken Caesar Salad. Of course I made the special request for anchovies to be included even though I somehow knew they would be forgotten… which they were. But the egg(not my favourite part of the Caesar Salad) was cooked to perfection as was the chicken. Even the cos lettuce crunched with freshness. Yet my wife’s beef burger scored poorly(at $ 25). It looked like an American overload with chips(I snuck a chip to taste and liked it) but she gave it a thumbs down. I know this is not a destination restaurant famed for food, but it filled my void and I liked it. Had the wife not had a better meal, I would have upgraded this to a higher rating, even though the views are fantastic. But I am here to comment on food.

This is a perfect place for family brunch/lunch. We were 7 adults &2 kids and all the food was great. Some had healthier options like museli & yoghurt and others had heartier options like minute steak, eggs & hash browns. Got a bit hot as we were sitting on their veranda and the sun was beaming. Coffees were pretty good too. Staff were really helpful and friendly.

This is a really beautiful place overlooking the swan. The service is good and attentive with a modern Australian feel to it. Really great place to come through and unwind. Be sure to take a few pics and if possible walk along the dune when the tide is out.

Boasting a great location in a great suburb this café should be packed to the rafters serving fresh seafood and cold drinks. The reality seems somewhat surreal. On a Sunday afternoon when the children are still on their summer holidays I was quite surprised to see that this café was empty. I am not sure why this is. It could be due to the fact that they feel the need to charge inflated prices because of the venue. The food isn’t bad but it is basic pub grub type fare serving BLT’s and salads. Not a great experience here as the service is also second rate. If they continue to serve basic fare at basic rates then I imagine they would be jammed every weekend. Greed is the only winner here.
