Another no table service restaurant. You order at the bar and the servers deliver the food to you. You get your own drinks, water, and table ware. Ok food. Ok prices for Sydney. The tables are bar tables where you sit up on high bar stools. They have an outside eating area, but we ate inside. Nice décor. Children are allowed to eat in the bar with you.

I really enjoyed this pub — I hadn’t planned to go just noticed it whilst walking around — we bought a drink first and the girl behind the counter mentioned they had a lamb roast special — we ordered and I have to say it was really nice — it was a spacious relaxed pub — next time I’m bringing the family — staff were lovely too and made you feel comfortable. Very affordable including drinks.

You haven’t lived till you’ve been paralytically gone in the Paragon II. Now, why is it II? Is there a Paragon I that I don’t know about that exists in a parallel universe and which actually might be good? Downstairs is actually a pretty decent spot. You have the outdoor seating for a people watch and the indoor section gets you close to the bar. Upstairs is for pretention, pool and bar room brawls. Actually, if you DON’T get in a fist fight upstairs you should ask for your money back! That should come with an ironclad guarantee. Overall The ‘Gon is just too expensive for the clientelle that it services and as a result it’s one of those places you stop at cos it is close to work, and leave cos it is close to bankrupting you.

Not great, maybe average, until the wait staff decided to be rude. Won’t be hosting a group function here again.

Live music upstairs on Sat night. Loud but $ 5 pints of Guinness provide exceptional value and softens the blow. There is a bistro menu. We ordered a few options off the menu which were delivered about 20mins later, and were of good quality — standard pub fare. Across the way from Circular Quay station, this pub is readily accessible and a good option for pre-game drinks ahead of late night antics, or for catch up pints with friends. Just don’t expect to be able to hear each other if the band is playing :)
