I have been to Meletos three times now and whilst I love the building and location, there are a few criticisms. First, the music is too loud… combined with the noise created by an acoustically challenged space it is impossible to have any conversation. It is such a relief to go outside for a coffee! Second, the ceiling windows make parts of the restaurant unbearable when the sun is shining… we were placed at the back on a recent visit and I could not bear the sensation of being slowly fried. The food is what you would expect at an innercity pizzeria with the bonus of amazing views and plenty of room to stretch out, so it is an enjoyable place for lunch or socialising with a crowd.

Unfortunately, Meletos isn’t offering the best quality of service to its guests. We were told recently that all brides and bridesmaid are not allowed to bring any make up artists into the hotel for pre-wedding preparations. Despite the beautiful photos of your rooms, hearing this rule set by the manager/owner is just absurd. This has given plenty of past brides and bridesmaids difficulties in preparing for their weddings. To have a high standard of quality of service is not to keep away unforeseen noise or chaos of weddings but to ensure all guests were treated with respect and given with extra attention to details and comfort. It is a huge disappointment to discover this set of rules imposed by them. It is also the first time I’ve ever heard of such rule imposed by a hotel.

Unfortinately I was very underwhelmed with Meletos. The setting was lovely and i know we are outside Melbourne so its hard to get good staff, but you can still serve the whole table(4 guests) at the same time! Not 20 mins apart. You can still get everyone’s drinks orders at the same time! The food for the others, bar mine, was very unexicting as well. A real shame

The grounds are beautiful and the foods pretty good to match. With all the upkeep the pricing feels more like two thirds food, a third for grounds and building maintenance… Which is OK as it acts as a dickhead deterrent the same as cellar doors charging for wine tastings does. There’s no bookings on weekends so try to get in outside peak lunch time to avoid going on a waiting list. It was the first clear day over 25 degrees in a couple of months the day I went so the staff were all pretty hammered but managed to still be polite and attentive enough. Pizza’s were well done, small plate entrees were tasty too. Good place to bring people from outside Melbourne.

Amazing food & service! If you have Kids then get a table outside(if its a nice day of course) The kids had the opportunity to run around while taking in the spectacular view!

Great location, just off the main road. The décor is fantastic. A bit loud with a party feeling(clashing with the hipster attitude of the staff). The Britt pop was blasting through the speakers. Definitely catering tourists like me. Cider is the name of the game here. Dishes are expensive a tad elaborate and on the pretentious side of things. But the massive oven should direct you to ask the pizzas… Had a pork fennel and capers one. ok but far from exciting. Will I return? Sure, why not, but not rushing back

Fantastic venue, even better food and the staff are some of the best I’ve seen in terms of hospitality. If your looking for a good venue to chill have a few beers and have a decent feed meletos is the place for you :)
