Excellent food and service. Everything was delicious. We had a lamb rice, shrimps with a sauce of curry and coconut and palak paneer

A favourite of mine in the North Shore of Sydney. This Indian is an absolute gem. Don’t expect it to be cheap. You pay for what you get. Fresh curries, naan, rice and papadums. My favourite dish which simply melted in mouth, was the tandoori lamb cutlets! Three words ‘Just Do It’! If you are in the neighbourhood of course.

Always excellent. Everything is cooked from fresh on order, and they will tailor it to your liking. The vindaloo is nicely hot.

We have been coming off an on for a number of years and the food is always has a good depth of flavour with reasonable serve sizes. We ordered lamb cutlets, samosas and a prawn dish for starters and they were all extremely tasty. The mains of Butter Chicken, Beef Korma, Lamb Rogan Josh plus a Dhal dish all very tasty. The service was good not exceptional.

First time here, and will definitely be back. The décor is nothing special, as others have noted, but that could be said for most restaurants in the area. There is a great selection of mains, and I recommend any of the house specialities. We had the Sheekh Kebab Masala, Balti Beef, and Peshawari Chicken. Also sampled buttered and garlic Naan. Service was quick, the food was flavoursome, and went really well with an ice cold Kingfisher beer.

First time I visited this restaurant was back in the mid 90’s when it was called Piar. I was pretty much a regular, and even to this day consider it to be some of the best Indian food I’ve EVER eaten. Dude that owned the place back then was ultra polite, always used to hold the door open for us etc. It was the place that my wife first tried Indian food(she had the butter chicken) and she agrees with me that no other chicken makhni could ever hold a candle to the meals she’s eaten here. We moved to the US about a decade ago, but on a recent trip back to Australia I made it a point to come back, have some Indian here and then scarf down some Bravo Trattoria gelato like I used to back in the old days. The food was still spectacular. We went for lunch and had a nice chat with the guy who now owns the place. The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because the price was a shocker. Lunch, for four people, ran over a hundred bucks! Maybe I’m still used to the US vs Aussie dollar imbalance but that’s beyond insane. Still, worth it if it’s just a bi-annual treat!

Can’t say I agree with Mark. We’ve been here countless times with at least 20 – 30 different people over the years and every one of us always enjoys the food immensely. The garlic naan is amazing and the palak panner and dahl are delicious. If I was rating just on food, I’d give it a 5 but the last time we went we had terrible service and were basically told that we would not be served because we had a voucher and we didn’t tell them that ahead of time when we booked the table. We asked if they could make an exception seeing as how the restaurant was empty at the time and she flat out refused saying we could only stay if we pay full price, either that or we need to leave. We couldn’t believe how we were being spoken to. Needless to say we left and got a refund on the voucher and have never been back. Shame too because it’s the best Indian I’ve had in Sydney.

Our first visit to this place, sadly likely to be our last. I am a curry fan folks, no two ways about it, and she is English so it goes without saying really. As one of the few Indian curry houses in the area we were expecting great things when we came in without a booking on a Friday night. Ambiance — maybe 5 out of 10, helpful staff, 7 out of 10, food — ba-bow… sorry guys can only give you a 4 at best. We enjoyed the pappadums, although they were a bit oily for our taste, the yoghurt accompaniment somewhat bland but OK. Entrée, house speciality of saffon marinated chicken was tasty, and a redeeming factor. The two mains, a beef balti and a lamb rogan josh — well! First off, we really couldn’t tell from the flavour which was which — I never saw a yellow balti or rogan josh, and the meat was sadly no hint, other than the one in the yellow sauce was as tough as old boots and the one in the brown sauce was pretty tender, but lacked flavour. We took a punt on which was which, after asking the waitress who sadly didn’t know either. Turns out we got it back to front, and the brown dish with tomatoes and tender meat was the rogan josh, while the yellow dish with sandal soles for meat was the balti. Tragic. I am just glad he didn’t ask us if the meal was alright when we left, she would have given him both barrels, and he would have never seen it coming. Perhaps we got a bad night or made poor choices, but folks life is too short to waste on bad food, so we won’t be back. 2⁄5 is generous, saved by the chicken entrée.

I usually get their food through a delivery service, but I have been inside the restaurant too. Cute little place, and the food is GOODGOODGOOD! Owner is friendly and delivery is fast also. Highly recommended!
