I had never been to this little spot before but upon arrival my wife and i were made to feel very comfortable and taken care of. We were seated by the manger as well as served several of our 6 course meals by him and the waiter was always very attentive. We did not feel the need to stare or try to «hail» him down. The wine pairings with our food were excellent and the food itself was well thought out and made with care and precision. Upon leaving i had a chance to thank the chef briefly but wish i had more opportunity to talk to him. This will stay a special meal and experience my wife and i loved sharing together. Thank you Little Jean see you again soon.

Everything here is Simply delicious! Service is friendly and professional. The feel of Little Jean is relaxed and contemporary with custom made furniture and fittings. They support local and use award winning produce such as Pialligo Estate bacon, Country Valley Dairy, La Boqueria cured meats and Holbrook Paddock eggs. They make most of their own products in house — cheeses, pastries, cakes, sauces, sodas and Jams. What they don’t make, they source from ethically and community focused suppliers such as The Bread and Butter Project. They use environmentally friendly practices(milk tap and Purezza systems to eliminate use of bottles and reduce their carbon footprint) bio packaging with no commercial offset printing) The wine list is small, but, again features award winning«up and coming» wineries — Wines that are extremely good(average score of between 94−96points by James Halliday), well priced and can’t be found in Dan Murphy’s. Coffee is by Single O. Little Jean was awarded in the top 10 Eastern Suburbs Cafes(Top 50 in Sydney) by The Telegraph. Little Jean has just made it into«The Top 100 National Restaurants — People’s Choice Awards». Little Jean has been featured in Vogue, on Channel 7 and by Sydney Morning Herald and Broadsheet.

Little Jean is the old bistro crew from The Golden Sheaf Hotel. They only moved a few meters and now have their very own place! Since I have only tried their breakfast menu I will be commenting on that. Spacious tables indoor and outdoor with heaters beside the outdoor tables. Lots of staff were on when i arrived which was about 8.40am. I ordered the scrambled eggs with rye toast. There was alot of eggs i could only manage to eat ¾ of it. The toast was a bit charred but I like them crispy so this did not bother me. Coffee is good too. It is table service. Staff are attentive and friendly. THey also have an assortment of pastries, muffins etc on offer too if you’re not feeling too hungry. Great first time visit. Looking forward to trying the dinner menu as i was a fan of their steak when they were in the Sheaf.
