Whenever a morning or afternoon outing is on the cards, Wilfred’s is the first pick. A gorgeous little café tucked away from the busy Pascoe vale rd, we always feel welcome and taken care of. The food here is nothing short of incredibly delicious! Home made donuts get the big thumbs up.

A little slice of coffee heaven hidden away in the back streets. By far this is the best place this side of the creek to get home made donuts and a coffee fix after pretending to be healthy and cycling over. Due to its convenient location to the bike path this spot is a favourite with the local riders. Don’t let this deter you though. There’s ample space inside and out for all café lovers. The coffee is great, the donuts even better but the service can be a little slow at times.

This little café just has a good feeling about it. The owner and barista always greet you with a smile and the food is well above average at a reasonable price. In summer you can’t go past the brekkie salad, light and refreshing it consists of a poached egg, toast, prosciutto, halloumi(and obviously salad!) They also always have interesting specials so you can’t get bored with the menu.(Today we have crumpets with strawberry and rhubarb marscapone). The coffee is consistently good and their babycinos always put a smile on my kids’ faces with their double-marshmallow-googly-eye creation. The only negative is that it can get a bit squishy in here when busy, which is mainly on the weekends. This can be tricky if you have active kids, although if you get a spot in the front courtyard you are set. A final thing worth mentioning is that they also bake their own little treats like pink glazed donuts, egg tarts and donuts filled with chocolate ganache which is a lovely touch. Definitely worth a visit.

Our second visit to «The Wilf» now. Apparently the way to test a good chef is to see how they cook eggs. 2nd best scrambled eggs ever!(behind my wife’s who may read this…) Although small with not many tables, was still a great place to take the kids,(they have high chairs) and it was nice to be able to see into the kitchen watch the fellas do their thing… Won’t be our last visit!

Hidden in plain sight half way down Albion St is this little gem. With a nice little courtyard and a really nice counter under the window, this place will lure you in with is charms and the smell of great coffee. If you are like me, you will tell yourself it is just for coffee and maybe a cookie or something sweet. Then you will read the menu and the little voice in your head will say«Oh that sounds nice, it is only 11am but you can have lunch now». It is exactly at this point, seconds after you order that you take a few more seconds too look around and realise that everything is going to be all right with the world and you have made the best decision that you will make all day. So, the only thing left to do is to work out if you want another coffee with your lunch… Oh, this is a review! whoops… * Coffee: A+ * Food: A(however I suspect I will be back to try the rest of the menu and that may change this to an A+) * Vibe: Awesome!
