Fresh, homemade pasta daily. I’m a particular fan of their Puttanesca. The only reason it doesn’t get a full five stars is because of the raised prices(due to a new installation of a pizza oven).

I tried this restaurant based on Unilocal reviews and it was a great find. I had the«Pasta Bella» sauce which is pesto/marina mixed over the house made fettuccine and it was MARVELOUS! Every bite was better than the next. My sister had the risotto and it was also fantastic. If you like Italian cuisine you should definitely make a point to check this place out.

Fantastic, fresh food, everything tasted better than homemade. We ordered the Bruschetta Pizza to start, which was wonderful. For our mains we had the carbonara With Fettuccine and the Risotto with Chicken. The pasta was divine!

Came here last night for a couple of take outs. They were pretty slammed so order was reasonably slow to come out. Food was OK, lasagna is large but sheets are quite thick and sauce is minimal, so not crash hot on the serving size. Probably won’t be back again. The olive tapenade pizza would be better if it was cooked in the oven a little more, it was fairly white when it came out — but perhaps this was a result of the busy-ness of the place at the time.

I have been here a few times and every single time it has been a treat! The staff are friendly, although they can take time to come to you to take your order but that is a good thing as sometimes you need that extra time to decide from their vast selection of pasta or the special menu items. Too many good options! Last visit i trialed the Fettuccine Al Gamberi — Yum! This place is BYO which is an added bonus. Desserts are as delicious — try the sticky date! If you are in the Glebe area and looking for food, look no further! Reasonably priced for their authentic Italian food. Grazie!

Family run business with 3 generations working in the shop. Authentic Italian home-style cooking with the BEST home made pasta. Fresh, simple, silky perfection. There are a lot of things on the menu, but if you ask the boss, you have to order the pasta. It’s the specialty(as if the name wasn’t enough of a hint). Forget this gluten-free b/s fad that’s going around. Get along and enjoy. PS. They actually do have gluten free pasta too… but you wouldn’t really want to go there would you?

Totally amazeballs. Friendliest ever staff. And the pasta was absolutely delicious — I’d forgotten how good freshly created pasta tastes.

I’ve had a few bad experiences with carbonara dishes. Think weird eggy clumps unappetizingly clinging to store-bought dry spaghetti. Had a pasta craving last week and being a Glebe-dweller and Unilocaler noticed the stellar reviews and wanted to give this place a whirl. Firstly, I freaking LOVE places that make their own pasta, and give you the freedom to choose your own sauce from their delicious sauce options! After asking the cute waitress for recommendations, she unhesitatingly pointed out the fettuccini carbonara($ 18) as a standout and I decided to give it a go. WOW. Picture has been uploaded below: fettuccine arrived, impeccably presented– silky and enticing, flecked with pancetta and spring onions, crowned with a single coddled egg yolk. I enthusiastically stirred the runny yolk through the creamy bacon-enhanced goodness, lusciously coating the long lashings of freshly made pasta. One bite and I became another worshipper at the Altar of Correctly-Made Carbonara. And as it turns out, our cute waitress was the daughter of the owner, who on his night off was still hovering around the place ensuring his diners were having an enjoyable experience. Support local businesses and head to Pastabella for their incredible(yet very filling and most certainly bum-widening) pasta dishes! BYO as well.

My friend invited me to an Italian lunch and chose this place because she heard it was child-friendly. It’s a small space and at first glance, you would be forgiven for thinking this is a take-away, counter-service gelato bar. But once inside, it has a very homey, Italian feel to it and the owner was very accommodating even though my friend’s child would not stop crying because she was teething. I ordered the chilli prawn fettuccine while my companion chose the lasagne; we were amazed at the excellent texture of their freshly made in store pasta. For dessert, the tiramisu cake melts in your mouth! Looks like my friend made the right choice.

Many people can’t tell the difference between dry, pre-made pasta and fresh pasta. Some people have never even tried fresh pasta. You guys don’t know what you’re missing out! At Pastabella, this popular Italian ingredient is taken to another level, as it is made fresh daily. I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect much when I decided to come here for dinner. The decoration is quite bland, it was almost empty, and the menu was quite pricey. When I found out that all their pasta is actually handmade, my hopes were raised tenfold. Not many places actually put the effort towards making the pasta themselves. Now that I’ve eaten at this family restaurant, I recommend it to anyone who’s willing to schlep over to Glebe. You won’t regret it! I ordered the gnocchi Bolognese, and it was fantastic! The gnocchi had perfect consistency, not gummy or tough at all. The sauce tasted very homemade; I’m sure it’s a family recipe. I enjoyed this dish in the sun-room at the back. The service is as impeccable as the food. Definitely come here if you’re a fan of robust Italian food. Even though it’s not a fancy place by any means, the food alone makes it a great place to take your date.

Up until a year ago my boyfriend swore his Italian mum made the best pasta in the world. But after one fateful night at Pastabella, all this came crashing down. I remember the look on his face as he ate his first mouthful of freshly made fettucini in Pastabella’s namesake sauce. A mixture of confusion, delight and wonder, he chewed his way through, opening his mouth mid-bite with one word that said it all — «Wow». Our waiter was lovely, an integral part of the Pastabella family. The pasta was fresh and delicious, and whilst the atmosphere in the front room isn’t as nice as out the back, the waiter/food combination ensured that this was unimportant. I’ve only ever come across one person who didn’t love Pastabella, and she’ll come around. Losing the top place in your son’s mind is never easy.
