No, I’m not a quilter … but I came here in search of sewing supplies for my weaving. That’s what I like about this place — even though it’s primarily a quilting shop, they stock a lot of other supplies like embroidery thread, haberdashery, and sewing cotton (which is what I was after).
Friendly staff, and pretty helpful — I got a good tip for using cotton over polyester, which I hadn’t thought of. Prices aren’t super-​cheap like Spotlight, but at least you know that the owners know what they are talking about.
Since this area has a lack of sewing shops, I’m grateful for Patchwork By Sea, which saved me having to drive all the way down to Noarlunga just for sewing thread. My mum-​in-​law buys material for her quilting habit — sorry, HOBBY — and loves their range. I spotted Kaffe Fasset fabric here, which is pretty cool.
